Caicedo whip

I bought one of Gus's 12 plait cowhide whips off e**y a couple of weeks ago. When I got it, I was very surprised at how soft and supple it was. After conditioning it and letting it sit for a couple of days, I took it outside to try it out.
It's a six footer and it cracks like a rifle; much more fluid and cracks louder than even the kangaroo 6 footer he made for me, and just as accurate for cutting.
Has anyone else had the same experience with good cow leather whips? beside being cheaper, mine seems to be a bit more supple and better all around than the roohide. Granted, the roo whip is not broken in yet, but the cowhid whip is very sweet.
I'll try to put a pic up later this weekend.
