Im looking for a really screen accurate look on my wested raiders but have no idea about distressing and am afraid to try it, is there anyone who would be interested in distressing it for me for a price?

I agree with that.

Besides, there are different levels of distress to consider and what one person might think is somewhat distressed, another might think it's too distressed.

Cleaning an old dusty garage/celar/attic that your wife/mum always asked you to do is another excellent solution!!!! Makes the two of you happy at the same time

I would recommend distressing it yourself since if you are going to take a brand new jacket and distress it you alone should really be held accountable for the consequences.

Of course this is very intimidating. The truth is you need to experiment first - there are many good threads here about how to distress a jacket - the key is to start small and work up to it.

However I figure if you really really can't find the will and courage to do it yourself there are certainly a lot of people on the board here with nicely distressed jackets so the best idea if you go that route is to find a picture of a distressed jacket you like and then contact that board member.

I have seen so many nicely distressed jackets that i think it would be easier and better if someone with experience did it. Im located in New Jersey. If anyone can help, i'd greatly apreciate it! I would need to see some pictures first though

I think what people are saying it's a personal rite of passage. If it goes wrong you only have yourself to blame! Bear in mind that if all else fails there is always brown pecard and if that doesn't work you can always buy a new one!

BTW. I should get my HH Wested today and maybe someone knows some good infos about how to distress a horsehide? What methods?
My LC Lamb will distress naturally (hope so) but the horsehide will be a horse stiffer, so inputs are very welcome
