Thoroughly Bummed!

Post by Chewbacca Jones »

Well, this week has been a streak of bad luck. My pending move has gone from trouble-free to "everything is a complicated mess", I burned my tounge, and now... the worst blow of all. I won't have my Wested Jacket in time for the Finger Lakes Summit.

I just felt like sharing my misery. Hopefully my AB will make it.

That's true!! I came back from the QM with 2 prop replicas, both free! The year before that I came home with a free web belt!

Sorry you didn't get your jacket in time, buddy... I'm hoping mine will come before my next summit, and Halloween too. I'm ordering it tomorrow.

In Christ,

I know how disappointed you must be. What happened to delay the Wested?

That shouldn't affect the enjoyment of the FL much. With as many cool things up for grabs, you're bound to walk away with some extra bit of gear in some capacity!
I don't know why it's going to take so long, I just received a notice that it was due to ship on sept. 8th. Talk about close! I guess they are really busy.

I don't have a clue what to expect of the Summit, but I'm sure I'll find plenty to make up for the jacket. :-

That's unusual. must be that they have a bunch of work come up. :)

Or the skin you've chosen is out of stock.

Don't get to worried if you don't get it in time, new jackets need a bunch of time to settle in and you can always do Cairo or TOD!

Don't even worry if it doesn't show up in time for the summit. You will be so busy, you won't have time to think about it. If you really want one for a photo op, there will be more jackets there than you can shake a stick at, and I am sure you can borrow one in your size.

That is one of the fun things about the summits, you will get to see just about everything in every make, model, and color. You will really get a feeling for the things that you like or don't like when you see them in person and actually get to hold things and look at them.

One other thing that you will notice, if this is your first summit. You will meet a lot of people for the first time, and yet, when you meet them, you will feel like you have known them and been friends for years. It is just like Club Obi-Wan, only it is live.

Well, the stars must be re-aligning or something. Not only did Peter chime in on this very thread, but now it seems that the shipping notice I got was wrong. My friend called (I put her as my shipping address due to the move), and the box was delivered today!!! :D :D :D :D

You know what? I just had a thought.

We write dates here Day/Month/Year do you think this might have caused the confusion? If Gemma had written 10/08/06 you may have read it Eighth of October rather than Tenth of August.

 That had not occured to me. Looking back at the e-mail, I think that's what happened, KT. No "sheep" emoticon.... too bad! Sometimes I guess it's good to be wrong, though.

Oh, and a public "Thank You" to Peter for taking an interest. It's nice to see genuine, friendly customer service can still be found in this world.

I prefer 10.08.2006, 2006-08-10 and August 8th, 2006.

"You Americans: All the same!" :) Not to worry, easy mistake to make.

The thing that worres me is all the Brits going to the FInger Lakes in September AND October!! :)

Enough of this HOW DOES IT LOOK!!!

The Summit's in September!?! (just kidding  )

KT, I have no idea what it looks like. :( Because of the move, I gave Wested a friend's address. Since I now have about 24 hours left to pack, I won't see the jacket for a couple of days.

Although my computer will be off the net for a while, I'm going to try to at least get to a library and keep in touch here. If I can get my PC plugged in at my temporary place (I'm renting), I should be able to get some pics on disc that I can then post while at the library.

Now, all I need is a Toht coat to go with that quote. Whoa... poetry!
