On the Wested's jacket, are the rectangular sliders the same thing as the D-rings but in a rectangle shape instead? :? I feel like such a moron asking this but I'm planning on ordering my second Wested and don't know what to go with.

They serve the same function as D rings, but the leather straps won't slip out of rectangular fasteners. When I got D rings on my first Wested, they would slip all the time. I constantly had to pull on them every so often to keep them from undoing themselves, and I could not turn the straps around to face backwards (for screen accuracy purposes).

I have had neither of these problems with rectangular sliders, and as I understand it, sliders are more screen accurate.

Here you go, I think currently Wested can only get the antique bronze colour. If you really want the gun metal I suggest you source them yourself and swop them out.

So, they're the same as the D-rings only different shapes. alright, thanks. On the site it describes it as a "Buckle" and I didn't want something like a belt buckle or like the bag strap buckle.

Their FUNCTONALITY is the same. They're meant to do the same things, but rectangular sliders will not slip as much as D rings will. Keep that in mind.

Hey - I was going to ask the same question: that "buckle" really confused me too. Thanks for asking that question for me!!

Yes the D rings are a bit looser for obvious reasons and work well on the thicker leathers eg. cow & horse. They seem to slip on the lamb, you'll notice thay are also heavier gauge than the rectangular ones by about 20-30%.
