Club Obi Wan

Hi,

I just recently developed a fascination for whips, having remembered a bullwhip my grandfather had. I ordered a 6' black 12 plait bull from Gus Caicedo and have found it to crack very easily and accurately. I could crack it from the start and after just a few tries could hit dandelion heads and individual leaves. I crack for a while each day, using bath hands, and my accuracy is improving very quickly.

I just lost a bidding war with Boggstandard over a Bernardo roo whip on the auction site, and so have consoled myself with a Terry Jacka whip from Western Stage Props.

I'm 49, a family practice doc; I just thought I'd introduce myself before I go back into lurk mode. I'll try to post pics of my two whips soon, when the Jacka comes in.

Hello Ed, Welcome to Indy Gear and Club Obi Wan. You have my sympathies, I’ve lost a few of those auctions to Bogstandard myself, but alls fair in love and ebay . Congratulations on ordering yourself one of Terrys whips, that’s a great consolation and you won’t be disappointed. I use several of them and they are amongst my favs, Great whips. Look forward to seeing pics.

Well welcome, all the people here are very nice so enjoy and good luck with your new bid i think you got 20 mins left so hurry up and go get it!

That was the whip auction to which I was referring. Bogstandard bid above my limit, though I see that he also lost out to a sniper.

The secret is to resist the urge to make a sandwich until the auction is over.
One thing for sure, there will be other opportunities to diminish my whip fund.
