Harrisons Ford's clothing sizes

I was wondering if anyone got Harrisons actual clothing sizes for Raiders? I know many people have been in contact with the original clothing makers and I'm hoping someone has this Info. I'm mainly looking for his pants size (waist and inseam) I know his jacket size in Raiders was a 42R although I hear some on the board say 40. I know it's 42R because when I ordered my Wested I requested Harrison's size in Raiders and I was told it was 42L and then my order was changed to 42R I asked why it was changed and Peter wrote me back saying his employee got it wrong and the correct size is 42R. Anyone know about the pants?
I searched the past thread to see if this was clearly covered with no luck.

Funny, I could have sworn I read an article in which Peter definitively states that Harrison Ford's jacket size was 40 Regular.

Yeah I thought Ford wore a 40 in RotLA and ToD and changed to a 44 in LC.

Graal, those are the items I saw and handled in person when I visited Noel Howard all those years ago. Good to see them again! But are you sure about HF's height being 5' 9 1/2" (1.765 m)? I'm sure Noel described him as being of a similar height to himself, which I reckon is around 6' to 6' 1" from our meeting.

Yes, I am sure. Information comes from Noel Howard himself.

Well if that really is the case, HF's a lot shorter than he's commonly perceived to be. Were you there taking these photos?

Would you please reduce the size of your photos? They're HUGE, and WAY larger than we allow on site.
Thanks!

I think its pretty common to think that people on screen are bigger than they really are. If Ford only wore a 40 in Raiders then he must have been a fairly small guy.

Harrison Ford is under 5'10" in his bare feet?
IMDB says 6'1"...
Can Indy possibly be average?
Wearing 40R doesn't necessarily mean you're not tall, just that that you have an average torso.

Perhaps Buff and Co. might chime in...they saw him in person at a junket for Firewall in NY

There's just one problem, when your as tall as me and Buff, most people seem short.

Even the height is about the same!
Is that picture of the boot an actual screen used boot?

Yes, I saw him in person and just eyeballing him from about ten feet away, I would say he was in the 6' to 6'1" range. I believe he is shorter than me, and I am 6'3", but I don't think he is 5"9" either.
He looks to be in very good shape, especially for his age. He is still a slender guy, but when he was younger, I bet he was even slimmer. That would account for the small jacket sizes, etc. Heck, I am younger than he is, and I can't fit in the same clothes that I wore when I was younger.

At 5' 9.5" he would be a 32" inseam. The pants would be 34x32.

I wear a 33 or 34 inseam depending on the cut of the pants, and I am 6'3". I don't think you can automaticly assume how tall someone is by their inseam.

At 5'9", I'm a 29-30" inseam... My legs are short and it *****....

I'm 5' 10" and wear a 32 inseam, that's why I made the comment. Guess you could be taller but have shorter legs. Usually mens height is a factor of leg lenght and not trunk lenght.

Why is it so important to know Harrison Ford's clothing sizes? Is someone buying him a new outfit for Christmas or something?

Maybe they want to have their gear the same size as the originals?

If you are not screen accurate in size, what good would that do?

Since this site discusses the clothing worn by Harrison in the movies and has also debated his height in many posts, it is a subject of interest. I am close in proportion to the clothing sizes stated above in this post. Since the costume was designed for someone with Ford's proportions, it looks right on someone with similar proportions. Much has been written concerning the brim dimensions and Harrison's long oval head creating the proper "look". The whole jacket issue often details precise measurements and placement of pockets, sleeve length, etc…which is also important to the “look”. Someone who is taller or shorter than Ford would need a different length whip or perhaps non-pleated trousers verses pleated to affect their appearance for the overall look of the outfit. Just a minor issue I consider when ‘tweaking’ my outfit.

Where did we get the height from. I'll put money on that he's taller than your stated 5' 9 1/2'' tall.

VP since you were proofreading another post earlier; what, may I ask, is a "heigth".
There are much weirder sites out there. e.g. I found several dedicated to manhole cover designs whilst researching a TMNT game a couple of years ago

That site looks speculative. What do fans know?
Noel Howard on the other hand...seems like he would be a much more authoritative source...

Soon! BTW check out the
Wested main site Peter's been busy revamping it. Again OT sorry guys!
Did I ever mention that Peter measured Harrison at least twice? Once for Raiders and once for Hannover Street. He mentions Hannover Street on the A2 page. Anyone asked him how tall he was.... probably wouldn't say, customer/client confidentiality and all?

Harrison Ford is actually 4 foot 2!
(Noel Howard made a special little pair of stilts for him to wear in the films)-it's a closely guarded hollywood secret(which I overheard on the bus)

A while back on the radio a local host said he ran into Harrison Ford at bar while on vaction. He kept talking about how he couldn't believe how short he was. Then they got into talking about actors are not as tall as they look on screen. At first he guessed Harrison Ford was about 5'9 then said he's definitely shorter than 6 ft.
Anyway take it for what it’s worth.

Just noticed while watching the Fugitive last weekend, Harrison claimed to be about 6'1" and 180lb. Now granted that was his character saying that, so it has basically no credibility, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
By the way, Ford lives in Wyoming which is where my wife is from and there aren't a lot of people in that state, so people tend to know everyone out there, and I've heard it said on the other side of the state, though they didn't actually see, that HF is 5'3" with a thick heal on, but since that was said by my wife's cousin Clayte, and he always exagerates, and since my wife is from there, and I know her very well, then I must be right in saying he's 6'1" and 180lbs.
WOE tthis coffeee seems a bit ststrong!!!
Wait! I don't drink coffee.

I'm just wondering why alot of you think Ford to be over 6'? I mean, isn't there a possibility he's nowhere near as tall as some sites make him out to be? 5'10" is not exactly short either.
I'd also accept the mans information who actually measured Fords body or at least had access to the original costume size info rather than some website that posts it based on hearsay or guesses. After all, I doubt Ford measured himself and sent in his stats to the IMDB.

I refer you to the recent photos of him with Callista in Australia. She is "on record" as being 5' 5", plus heels and see the repective heights. Bear in mind that her height may be over reported too. I think he's under 6ft.
