I wanted to get a pair in black also so I called Alden not too long ago and was told that they weren't able to do that. Maybe we can get another pair and dye them but don't know how that'll turn out.
Best,
Herr Jones

hey, if Alden doesn't do them (any longer) that's ok 'cause I was really thinking of getting them from Magnoli anyway... just figured he hadn't made a pair yet to show a good picture of.

Do a Search. I know Pyro posted pics of his a while ago.
He may even have them on his site.

Although this is a digital modification, it'll give you an idea of what my boots would look like in black (the toe stitching can be done in black or white):
Kind regards,
Magnoli

Well, I agree but after looking in my closet the other day I realized that I have an awful lot 'a blue shirts. This got me to thinking that the black may be an option to look into. It would match with dark blue slacks, which I have plenty of also. I don't know, just an idea I was toying with and still could go either way or heck, maybe I'll end up with both eventually.

Was that a voluntary trip or by court order?

ummmm..Doug....there are certain fashion 'feux-pas' that one should consider..
Never wear white socks with dark pants and shoes
never wear a short sleeve shirt with a tie
the tip of a necktie should come to the centre of your belt buckle..not above, or bellow
Although Navy slacks can be worn with black, tan, camel or oxblood, Black shoes should NEVER be worn with blue jeans but brown/tan (camel) shoes only. Perhaps consider camel desert boots with jeans. Would be much better...unless you want to repulse anybody you pass anywhere in the world..not that I'm judging!!

You can't?
Oh well. That explains why I'm never invited to parties anymore.

I don't know Gater, I think your mistaken about the black shoes with jeans thing.. I mean the first "fashion" person to pop into my head is Tom Ford (think that's his name), head designer for...darn, can't remember who he designs for but it's one of the big names..anyway his personal trade-mark is jeans with dressy black shoes. Then there's the classic combat boots with Levis example too, people have been doing that for ever. Those two examples are on different ends of the spectrum but I think it's generally an excepted thing, while the other items you mentioned are generally not excepted. I could be wrong of course.

Don't forget cowboy boots, engineer boots and harness boots. I think I'll stop at the next bar I see and tell the bikers that their clashing!
