Club Obi Wan

Does anyone have any knowledge of 'wholesale12' on that infamous aution site for their version of a 10 ft 12 plait Indy 'Signature' whip for less than $70? Would the proper color be saddle tan or a dark brown?

Btw, the one I bought was their standard whip, 4 plait 8 feet, not the Indy signature version. The one I have was in saddle tan but out of the box it looks more orangey than tan. So I darkened it with some leather dye.

Could you post a link for it ? I can't seem to find it.

Anyway if you are refering to ebay, you should beware. There are many whips on ebay that are just plain horrible. I am not kidding there are many people on this forum who can tell you far better than me about the horror stories of some of the whips on ebay.

Anyhow if you are looking for a good whip and don't have alot of cash. I would have to recommend Adam Winrich's IOAB (Indy On A Budget) whip. It's a good solid whip and a great one to start off with especially if your short on funds. You can find it here www.winrichwhips.com

Believe me for what you pay you get a mighty fine whip.

I have seen them, they come up on here ever now and then. I can't really recommend them as anything more then a costume whip, but i suppose some people like them. You would probably be more happy with dark brown, their saddle tan is a bit more orange then tan.

If it where my choice and you actually plan on using the whip, save up a bit more and go with a better built whip; even if it has a lower plait count. Adam Winrich does a really nice 4 plait Indy on a budget bullwhip for example that a lot of members here really like. It costs $30 or $40 more but your getting a better built whip for your money.

From personal experience, you NEVER save money in the long run buying "place holder" items. Fortunately, I learned this fast, after just one cheap fedora purchase. What happens is, you buy something very basic then you tend to upgrade in increments. If you go back and add up what you spent buying @#$%, you'll see you wasted more than you would have spent on quality stuff. You're much better off saving a bit of cash and just doing it right. In the end, you'll be happier with your gear and enjoy the hobby much more.
