OK, so I understand Peter Bro. sells an Indy hat of their own name that is supposedly on the stiff side (as it comes) but they also sell a Borsolino model.. the 'Michaelson' I believe it's called. Anyone here have one? What's the collective opinion of this hat? I want one that's on the floppy side and was wondering if this would be a good choice. Basically, what would I need to expect from one? Also, does anyone know if they keep 'em in stock or they'll have to make one up if I ordered?

I own one, and yes, unknown to me at the time, it WAS named for me after it's development. I was not aware of it being named so until it's unveiling. I'm still honored and humbled for the kind gesture by Joe Peters and co.
It's a nice soft and comfortable hat, and one of my personal favorites...but then it was a gift from some of my wonderful friends here at COW...so I'll not make any derogatory comments regarding my fine PBBM one way or the other. Someone else can chime in.
They are kept in stock, by the way.

I hope it's been a good hat for ya Michaelson. I'm a bit worried by the comment (you know that saying that goes something like "saying less is more.") It shall be interesting to hear how others like the PBBM.

It's a good hat with very little taper in the block. Soft felt, but kind of a loose felt, not dense. You can get a full 3 inch brim. Expensive.

I owned 2 of them( regrettably had to sell one).....this is a great hat, and is, IMO, instantly recognizeable as an Indy fedora.......

Not own one, only seen one in person, loved it, thought of buying one before I acquired the AB, but still a great hat imho.

ITG, don't read more into my 'silence' than there really is.
After owning and wearing 100% beaver and beaver blends these years....the PBBM is no beaver hat. As has been said, it is a looser felt, and doesn't even compare to the density of the Fed line of Akubra. That said, I agree with everything else that's been said above, and yes....mine HAS served me well, and like most of my stuff, it still looks as good as the day I got it.
It is definitely a VERY nice dress hat. I would not wear mine out in the rain, or on a hard march through the jungle. It's just not made for that kind of activity like our over engineered Camptowns, AB's, and Akubra line hats can take, and you shouldn't expect it to do so.
