Hi Guys,
I would to like introduce some pics of a Raiders bullwhip I just finished for a customer who lives in USA.
This whip has the longer handle typical of the older Morgan whips, it was made in calfskin.(In the pictures you will see my whip next to the original 80's morgan whip)
The raiders bullwhip features:
Rolled filler – 4 plait belly – bolster – 4 plait belly – bolster – 12 plait overlay (8ft)
Best Regards
Giò

Why do you use calfskin ?

If that's the whip you bought from Pagey, then it's a `98 Morgan and not an 80s Morgan.
Look like you've got the general dimensions pretty close. The strands in your handle area seem much thinner though.

I use calfskin on request by the customer. A calf skin that is of similar weight and thickness to kangaroo but lacks the tensile strength

Bingo! is the Pagey's Whip, but I read somewhere that from the 80s to 90s the design is never changed.
Yes,the strands in thehandle area are much thinner because the handle is a little bit much thinner[/quote]

That's a really nice looking whip! I like the calfskin a lot. At first glance I was sure it was rooskin..

The calfskin lacks the tensile strength of rooskin, but it handles abuse better. Is that right?
