The Dorfman Rebirth!

Post by Tycoonman »

Well, I should first say I'm new to the site, so iHola! to all of you guys. If any of you play or played RCT2, then you might recognize my name... if you don't, then... iHola! again.

Well, here is my wool Dorfman that has gone to #### and back, literally... (#### is located on the Cayman Islands). Anyways, this is the best I could do to rebash, I believe thats what you call it, the entire hat. I first began with boiling it, which removed a ton of dye, and shrunk the hat to fit on my little head. As soon as I took it out of the water, I stretched the material with a TupperWare cylinder bowl to make the hat taller. All that is left is for drying, and then steaming. Anyways, here are the pics.

Just so you know, I would never do this to any other hat.

Welcome aboard. Please give that hat a decent burial. In a thousand years, even it would be worth something. :D

Seriously, you need a better hat to show off here. But, if it was a joke, you got some giggles out of me. Regards, Fedora

It was defenitley a joke, just to show you guys how crappy my hat is. My favorite part is were I had to sew parts of the ribbon back up, because it wont stay on. You might be able to see some small bumps of blue thread if you look closely!

I have a patch of dirt in my back yard, so we will know where this will be going in a couple of monhs when I get my AB!

Hmmmm - rebirth you say!? :-k

To me it looks more like it's kind of undead

May I suggest that you stake it and fill it with garlic before you bury it? Or else I am afraid that I will come back and haunt you with a slow and dry whisper in the night; "Reblock me..... reeeeeeeblock meeeeee....!" :D

Afterwards you can call yourself Fedora Slayer

Well, there is always my Velt Dorfman I had when I was 5 or 7... that is just about as bad as this, I should have some pics of that soon..

Like I stated before, my hats go through ####... The only hat I have that has stood up to all the beating I have put it through is my khaki Snap Brim I got just before I left for Australlia. I'll post some pics later, as I just got back from prom, and I'm dead tired!

I just hate the thought of how my jacket will look after three or four years. Then again, it will be broken in!

Well, if your fedora went to you-know-where and back, it served it purpose. Even thought a $30 wool fedora is a $30 wool fedora, it's still a fedora and I'm glad at least one Dorfman out there definately got used.

And here is my list I mentioned above. First off the khaki hat from Henschel Hat Co.. It isby far the best hat I have owned, and I have been wearing it for 10 years now.

The second hat was a "Jones Hat" according to my Aunt. She picked it up at Disneyland, and I am impressed that it isn't a piece of @#$%. I was able to tell it wasn't a Jones hat, but I was glad to be the owner of a decent looking and comfortable feeling hat.

The last hat was my first ever Indy Hat I ever got had. It was purchesed at Disneyland, in 1995. It lasted me for a good while until right before my trip to Austraillia... when it final came to rest in my crawl space uptil two weeks ago.

Enjoy the screens on my small collection of hats!

I have one of those , I bought one for my Daughter and myself about 6 years ago. Not a bad hat when new. It kinda looses its appeal after seeing the AB.

Yeah, the orginal Dorfmans had a more acuarte design than the ones they have now. But I don't think it's fair to compare this to an AB, or any other hat for that matter... it would be a massacre...

I'm having a contest for THE WORST fedora - best pix and text about the worst one and why it's so bad wins a coffee mug and bumper-sticker.

... That might be the winner. You should enter.
