Hi all,

I though I'd post some pics of a Raiders bullwhip I finished a few days ago. I made it for a COW member. It sports the "hourglass" shaped handle, and a darker ring knot.

At first, I didn't like too much the idea of making an hourglass handle, but after doing it, I think it looks cool. What do you think?

Hey Jim, shut it!! BTW, where've you been? Still working on your lawn??

ha, I know that my lawn has had enough watering, :D

Great looking whip Jace,
and as aways , Awesome work Bernardo, is that cowhide or roo?

With your work being so good, I can't tell the difference.

That "Hourglass Look" with the transition knot further up the horn of the whip is my favorite of the "Raiders" whip looks, and you've nailed it perfectly, Bernardo!

Nice job! That's going to darken up beautifully! Crack her with joy, Tyrloch!

One question, though: Kangaroo or Kip? It looks like Kangaroo, but it's hard to tell from pictures.

Jinx Jim!

Oh well, I guess great minds think alike or something.

So, now there's TWO folks who want to know! Spill the beans Bernardo ;-) Kip or Roo?

Great work again, Bernardo!!!

I can tell that the whip is cowhide, and not kangaroo.

The handle almost looks longer than 8 inches. Is it? Or is that just the positioning of the ring knot? Looking at the pictures again maybe it really is 8 inches long.

I think I told somebody over the phone the other day who was looking for a cowhide bullwhip that Bernardo makes about the finest cowhide Indy bullwhip you will find anywhere. Now, if Bernardo would only sell me some leather, I could probably catch back up to him

It's so nice to read such nice compliments! :D what can I say? I'm happy. Thank you all.

Well, it's cowhide, or more accurately, kip, so Adam wins a candy! :D

The handle is 8 inches long; the knot is tied right at the end of the spike, with the outer edge being at the 8 inch mark, and the handle is also thinner, giving the appearance of a longer handle, just like the old Morgan whips. The thinnest part of the handle measures 20mm, like the Raiders whip Sergei measured sometime ago.

I can sell you some hides Adam, no problem  ...thanks for telling that to your customer.
