Well here is my TOD jacket. I had the 80's fit and xbox stitching. I wish I would have got the under arm gussets but I am very pleased with jacket overall. So.. Waddya think?

indy494,

Looks nice, although a bit on the short side -- more like a Raiders length. Did you specify the back length, or just order a ToD & let Peter figure out the measurements? How do you like the 80's fit? Is it snugger than the standard cut, or more tapered?

Jace... I just ordered a TOD and I guess Peter did the rest of the measurements. I zipped it up and its definitely snug.... Since this is my first wested... I dont have an opinion on the standard. Its tight but.. I love it! :-)

Well, that's the most important thing -- that you're pleased with it! That's how my Raiders fits -- which is one of the reasons I want to try a ToD next...just to get a bit more coverage. I also want to try out the goatskin since the one I have is lamb. I've just got to finish jotting down exactly what I want then I'm going to place my order...congrats once again on the new jacket!

wish mine was a bit more snug. I feel like im swimming in my jacket whenever I wear it =P But then if I watch last crusade I feel better because his jacket is rather loose (more so than the other 2) just like mine.

Congrats on your jacket though - it looks great, wear it in good health. It's a fantastic feeling to get it.

Well now having it for five hours.. it does seem a bit short like a raiders jacket. I specified my arm length being 24.75.. would that have ment that the length would have been 25.75? I think I have a long torso ~hmph~ and now the more and more I think about it.. I probably end up putting it on you-know-where..I probably should have orderd a long.. oh well :(

If you haven't done anything but try it on, if you don't like the fit, you can just send it back and get another one. That would be better than losing money selling it on ebay.

Your sleeve length doesn't have anything to do with the length of the body of the jacket. Two different measurements. The ToD is one inch longer in the body, not in the sleeves.

Well I had 2 different modifications on it.. and i recall on their websight that they wont take anything back thats been altered than the normal specs. I love the Jacket and I even emailed them saying how wonderful it is. I'd hate to be like a "Oh... I am not pleased with it now". Its not their fault that my body is misporportionate in some way :-P.

The fit on that is pretty good. Sleeve length is good, body fit is good. If you look at our guys and their Raiders fit jacket you'll see they are even shorter. Did you specify the back length? Tell them your height? The 1 inch difference between a Raiders and TOD could be swallowed up pretty easy if you have a longish body.

You are also wearing low rider jeans. The "rule of thumb is if you are wearing "classic cut" jeans the back should be just below the tops of the pockets for a Tod. But if you want it to hit a particular point on your butt just tell them your back length. It's a custom jacket!

BTW what are the mods you asked for that you think are non return ones?

In all honestly, that's a great fit. I, personally, wouldn't return it or sell it but get used to the length, it's not a "modern" jacket.

I didn't comment on how it fit as you are holding your arm up to take a picture of yourself. That causes the jacket to ride up, so it is a little hard to judge the length by those pictures. I will say, that from what I see, I agree with Kt. It doesn't look like a bad fit.

Well I think I am going to keep it.. :) I think it was the shirt I was wearing too that made it appear shorter than it was.. :P Thanks for the reassurance guys

Well, the 80's cut is supposed to be a little snug. The jacket does look a little short to my eyes, but I admit that's because it looks like the pockets of your jeans ride lower than the pockets on mine. Are you letting them sag? Is that authentic brown or dark brown? Lamb..Goat..?

Congrats on your jacket. It looks good on you.

Oh I am not worried about the snuggness at all. I was just concerned about the whole length. I think I will have to tuck in my shirts when wearing the jacket :P Its an authentic darkbrown lambskin. Overall I am pleased with it, I just wish it was a bit longer. Has anyone thought about buying a spair jacket just incase the old one kicks the bucket? I know the british pound is increasing and if indiana jones 4 goes underway, could that spark a hike in price?

I think the lenght is fine. As Bufflehead mentioned its hard to tell the length with you shooting yourself (arm up). Peter told me that the TOD should rest on the hip. Right on the top of your hip bone. Mine looks a bit short as well, but with the previous advice from Peter, it fits like its supposed to.

Also, when you wear baggy jeans, it tends to look shorter beacuse the back pockets on the jeans ride lower. Its definately a jacket that looks better with some closer fitting pants and shirt, especially with the tapered fit you ordered.

I think the jacket looks great, I wouldn't send it back. You will have to get in the habit of tucking your shirts in though.. atleast in the back. I hate the look of any short jacket (indy, A2,etc.) with long shirt tales hanging down. I sometimes just do the back of my shirts while wearing my TOD because the front is longer and tends to work with an un-tucked T-shirt. What leather is that you have there? Get someone to take a picture and post it for us with both arms in there natural position so we can better see the length... because if you're not absolutely satisfied with it, you never will be and nows the time to do something about it. Peter will understand, I'm sure he's heard it all before.

Well after like 3 days of having it.. I think I do need a longer length. I tried on different shirts i've had and they all surpass it by 2 inches. Ive never been the one to tuck in my shirts. My dad absolutely loves indiana jones and since he is 1 inch smaller than me and about the same stature/build, he'll be thrilled to have it. It will be an awesome fathers day gift too. Since my jacket is 26in in length, my next order is going to be 27-28in. And this time I'll get to put on gussets... thanks guys for the vote of confidence =)

I think that's probably a good choice. I mean really the one you have now is probably the perfect length for a 'raiders' but maybe a little short for TOD. I suggest you measure the front and back of this one and be very specific when you order the new one, because the front measurment will differ from the back. Anyway can't wait to see the new one.

ok so how much distance should be between the bottom of the jacket and the end of the sleeve in a TOD. The old jacket I had was 3 inches in between. While watching the film.. the jacket drapes in different ways.. causing it to look longer or shorter in different scenes.

It's pointless using that as a guide to length. Your arm length to body length ratio are specific to you. What works in the film may not work for you so it's on you own head if you second guess. Take measurements from your own body and wear the right sort of pants otherwise all your measurements are for naught.

There are different jackets throughout the films, you've just hit on the main problem with guestimating from screen.
