I'd say your best bet would be to contact Wested directly and see if they can help. They sell it from their shop.

I don't blame him. It's worth it's weight in gold over here in the States!

LOL, #### it, I was right beside it and didn't even know. Oh well, no problem. Luckily i chose to go back and pick up my jacket rather than having it posted. I'll have to pick some up then. so you guys prefer this over the Pecards if it was available in the states? What's the cost of it and roughly how long does it last (with regualr use I mean, nothing too crazy)

I think it's a couple of quid a can, but don't quote me on it! I've compleley treated 3 long coats with it and there's still some in the first can I've got.

Hard to answer that one...it's not readily available here for comparison (hang on, let's say it's not 'commercially' available here). Point is, only a few folks here could speak to both in comparison...Michaelson, Texas Raider, maybe a few others.

Honestly, and everyone KNOWS I'm a solid Pecards user and supporter...it was due to the fact I could NOT obtain Letaps that I even sought Pecards out as an alternate source. The next best thing I could locate when my one can of Letaps ran out was Lexol.

It's a really interesting product, as it's proprietary properties of coming out as a foam, then liquifying for easy wipe in is fantastic, and it really does a great job of cleaning and conditioning fine leather.

Pecards will always be my dressing of choice, but for cleaning and conditioning, or freshening up a jacket, Letaps is absolutely the way to go.

I thank TR for being a source for the occasional delivery of cans of Letap. I'm good to go for a while now. :D

So I guess Letaps would be okay for a roo hide whip to clean it. Sounds like it cleans and conditions, making it a one-step process.

For cleaning and conditioning, yes...I'd still put a final coat of standard Pecards on after the cleaning, as it lubricates the plaiting as well as helps water proof it. Letaps is NOT a product for water resistance like Pecards is. (man, that was a terribly written sentense...wasn't it?  )

Thanks Michaelson. So really, Letaps would be used a bit more for normal care and once and a while Pecards should be applied as a finishing dressing? Did I get that right?

That's how I do it, yes. You may just want to use the Letaps exclusively, but if you live in an area that gets a lot of rain, that practice of the Pecards followup has worked for me for years.
