Besides, you know what a cautious fellow I am.

As Indiana Jones uttered those words, he tossed a handgun into his luggage.

When the mailman came today, my Indygear took a huge jump up in quality. A replica of that very same gun arrived. It was made by Artsee1, and can be seen in this thread.

When Artsee1 posted picks of this remarkable replica, and then Dr. J received one and posted pictures of his real gun and this replica side by side, I decided that I had to get me one of those.

The detail and craftsmanship are unbelievable. It looks just like Indy's gun in the movie. And it looks like a real gun. It sure beats the two dollar gun that I was using for summits and parties and such.

Now, it doesn't match the real S&W that I can carry, because it can't shoot. But, I don't carry a real gun as Indy to summits and parties for the safety factor. Kids are usually around and makes that too risky. But, this is totally safe, and it is just as screen accurate as I could ever imagine.

Artsee1, thanks for putting so much effort into making such a top notch prop and for making it available to me. Thanks Dr. J, for posting those pics and making my wallet jump into action.

Oh, I forgot to add, I have a Todds Costumes Deluxe Holster on order to go with this gun. The holster should be here in a couple more days. And yes, the new gun and holster will be going to the Finger Lakes summit with me later this year. (Shameless plug for Rick's great summit)

Yeah, since I have such a problem posting pics, I just figured I would reference it to the thread where Artsee1 and Dr. J posted some pics. Mine looks just like that.

I am sure that photos of it and the holster will eventually make it here after a summit or something. Who knows, Mrs. Bufflehead or GraveRobberGreg may help me get some photos up.

HJ,

I sent the money on Saturday night and I received it that Wednesday in the mail. Considering that by the time I sent the money, he could not mail it until Monday, he must have sent it out first thing Monday morning. That means the pony express made it here two days later.

I was actually kicking back and not expecting it for at least a few more days. It was a surprise when it showed up in the mail.

I think I forgot to tell about opening the box. Mrs. Bufflehead was sitting on the sofa next to me (in her normal state of not paying any attention to what I was doing) and she had no idea what I had gotten in the mail. I pulled this thing out of the box and she shouts out, "is that a real gun!"

I said that it was not, but the look on her face indicated that she was not so sure. She is used to me having guns, but she really didn't expect one to just show up in a box in the mail.
