This is what I wear with any of my brown fedroa's
I put together something like this for my grey fedora.

I would wear the olive suit with the brown fedora.
I would use brown to pull it all together. In your tie, belt and shoes.
I hope this was helpfull.

A brown federation would work with any combination as long as there is something else brown in the combo.
I wear a federation with a blue suit if I have a brown belt and shoes. I wear a federation with a gray suit if I'm wearing a brown belt and brown shoes.
I personally have no love for olive green suits, but I have a more-blue-but-still- teal-ish looking jacket, and my brown stetson whippet works with it, and the color is only slightly darker/richer than the federation.
I don't see the federation as a formal hat, and will only wear it on less-than-formal occassions, such as just around town/class/movies. Brown hats are seen as casual/informal to begin with.

If you really want towear a brown fedora with a navy or blue suit. I would pull in brown with the shoe's and belt but more important than that is to make sure you have some brown in the tie. Look how well ragingblues pulls in brown with the tie. The belt and shoes you wont see very much but , the tie is right there.

Tweed with a brown bowtie or black/burgundy thin ties are my favs to go with fedoras... Jpenman - that white suite looks really cool with the fed, never would have thought of it but I like that look... it'd be really extra cool with an eyepatch... :c)

the tie doesn't need to be all brown. It's just have to have a little bown to pull it all together. The tie is key, you don't really see the belt and the shoes that much. Post some pics of everything together.

Do remember, gents, that this is for a wedding. Tweeds have no place at a wedding. I would venture to say that brown shoes don't belong there either, but most people these days won't notice.

I agree with you that treed has no place at weddings.I wouldn't fcuse on the shoes or belt. You could go black with them but, something in the brown family should be in the tie(if wearing a brown fedor).

If you are going to go with a gray suit, I think a maroon/red/brown tie will pull the look together very well. I've done this a few times with a charcoal gray suit and a brown hat. Ford does it in Last Crusade ala Pier scene, although his gray suit is a bit on the lighter side.
You can also mix and match parts from other suits

Fact of the matter gents, is that brown is a very forgiving color. You can wear it with almost any color. If you are wearing an overcoat, it should compliment it in some manner. You can wear it with gray, navy, khaki, brown, whatever.
Black would be problematic, but the band is so dark on an Indy Hat that you can get away with it as well.
For a wedding at night, you need to wear a dark suit, even in summer. For a daytime wedding, you can wear a lighter color, even a white jacket. Tweed jackets are for sports, not weddings.
thanks
