Pre-Distressed Goat?

Is Peter amenable to doing a pre-cow type treatment on Goat? I owned a Pre-cow for a while and loved the after pecards color, but would like more drape with my next one. The cow was always a sort of stiff and unwieldly. It had an all cotton lining, so that have been it ( any cotton/satin sleeves owners are free to comment here).

***Edit***
After reading about some of the HH owners jackets, I may go that route, too. Could the HH be distressed like the cow? I love the look of the HH and Goat, though I suspect that goat would drape and HH would be more stiff, like the cow?

Thanks for any input!

As I understand the pre-distressed cowhide Peter uses for the pre-distressed cow is exactly that - a particular type of hide he purchases and not the result of a treatment which Peter performs on the leather.

That means to offer pre-distressed goat Peter would have to purchase a completely different hide to get this effect (presuming it even exists)

I asked Peter the same question last time I ordered and he said "No, predistressed is ONLY cow hide"

Thank you all

Thank you for the replies-back to the search function to see how HH ages and drapes vs. Goat!

I actually wear my jacket(s) and have worn lamb, but would like something more sturdy. The reddish tint is one that I love the most in Mr. Pattersons jacket, but the HH pics that were recently put up here are top notch as well.

I go , I go, .....

This has got me to get out my samples and take pics again.

Hope this helps a bit. As you can see the cowhide comes with the surface already broken.

Alathea,

If you are going to put HH against the goat here are a few things I've noticed from my own HH TOD and some of what I've learned about the goat from others here:

-The goat is lighter and probably going drape better than HH
-The HH, while a little stiff at first, softens up quite a bit, but is a very heavy dense leather. There are divided opinions about the toughness of goat vs HH, but for me its HH all the way - I've never owned a leather so tough.
-Aging: from what I've read here, goat will not age very much if at all unless you do it manually. The HH I believe will age very nicely - mine after 6 monhs of wear has developed some nice grain, and the finish has started to wear through to the hide underneath in a few places. I would say it will have a pleasant worn look in no time.
-Color: the goat comes in the authentic and the dark brown, the HH while classified as dark brown is somewhere between the authentic and the dark. Pictures here on the forum are always all over the place due to the lighting. It s a nice deep chocolate brown color.

Hope that is of some use to you.....
