Any way to make a jacket (lamb) bigger?

Post by mantis3214 »

Hi all, I have a dark brown Lamb back home that is 1 size too small... Another family member wants it but I may be a bit jealous and steal it back if I can find a way to increase it about 1 size. Is there a way? Suggestions? Thanks.

Maybe If I had surgery to cut the size of my shoulders and my chest height, maybe then I could go on a diet and make it work. Any other suggestions?

What you're suggesting isn't feasible. You can't get more material out of what's already there.

No. That one has me stumped. I think with it being a leather jacket, any attempts to have it altered and let it out to make it bigger, would leave holes in the leather that could be seen. This is even if there is enough leather there to work with. I think they could be made smaller, but not bigger.

If it hasn't been worn, send it back and get a bigger one.

Put it on, zip it up, take a deep breath to puff up your chest and flex your shoulders as big as you can, then kinda hunch over doing the "most muscular" pose! If it doesn't rip down the middle of the back, tear the yolk seam or the sleeve seems (it should do one or the other) it should be stretched a bit bigger  :?

glad I could help

p.s.- send it back for a bigger size

Will the standing in the Shower with the jacket on method work for this as far as enlarging?

On another jacket forum a guy claimed you could increase your size jacket by almost one size by saturating it in cold water and placing either pillows or some kind of inflated bladder in the jacket. Then force the zipper closed and let it dry. To lenghten the sleeves, saturate the sleeves, clip the sleeves closed and put in some 5 pound dumbbell weights. Don't know if it works but worth a try if you are determined to keep the jacket
