Big arms = bad news for tapered sleeve owners?

If one owned a Wested with tapered sleeves, and their arms grew bigger (for whatever reason
), would this be bad news brown for that person? What I mean is, as the sleeve tapers off toward the cuff, would a person's larger arms cause it to stretch, be too small/form fitting, etc...?

Been eating your spinach Strider?
Your arms would have to grow a lot to cause a problem, if you wre lifting weights your forearms take a lot of work to make them bigger. Your biceps would probably be too big before youe forarms get to that point.

Arms useually do not tend to grow beyon proportions - so I would
not spend my youth worrien about that...
...and if they did - buy a new jacket - after seing the doctor..
Best regards

If somebody thinks that they are going to grow their arms so big that their jacket will not fit, they may already notice that their fedora is getting tight from the swelling.
I am not referring to anyone in particular.

He's gonna come after you now, Morgan... lol
That's pretty good, Tone! Love the jaw -
Great reverse taper, too!
Tone's really not lying guys - I was there to see the first fight with his new 'ceps.

(Strider's been working out too - though he's not so... oddly shaped - no 'roids, just good ol' fashion weights.)

Tone, Shane ... I'm rolling. That's hilarious! My friend asked me the other day that if you had a tapered sleeve jacket, and your biceps got huge, if that would spell bad news for you. I said I don't know, but I know who will!

i dont know if my sleeves are a bit wider around the upper arm than others, sorta seems that way, but i told peter my arm width and said i lifted, so he might have slightly adjusted mine. I had to get my jacket with a 48 chest cause i work out , fits great too. Surpirsinly lifting helped when i got my first WPG indy shirt in 17x33, i felt no bagginess i was afraid if i flexed my back it would rip, too bad the sleeves were like 5 inches short lol. This next one should fit like a glove...i hope. Good job staying healthy strider with the working out. My favorite exercise is the dead lift, nothing like lifting 404 pounds off the ground. (4 plates each side for those who dont want to do the math.) Strider, are you trying to get buff for a TOD gear set up?

LOL! Nothing like that! This was just a question from a friend of mine that I said I'd ask here. It's as simple and innocent as that.

I believe it has been an issue for _ in the past. He lifts iron (last I heard, he had stepped down from weightlifting with GE locomotives, but that may just be a rumor.
)
Hopefully when he passes through next, he can post something about what he's had to do regarding the 'larger arm' issue.
Regards! Michaelson

I have a motorcycle jacket with (adjustably) tapered sleeves which I have always kept very narrow. When I first got it, I was quite skinny and have since been exercising (2 years now) and I really don’t see my arms ever becoming an issue, unless the jacket is already not comfortable, then it shouldn’t matter... either way, its not something to not exercise over, Unless you're looking for an excuse ;c)

I wouldn't worry Strider, I have a Wested with tapered sleeves, and the taper really only effects the cuff. Unless your wrists get huge, no worries.

Indiana_Tone wrote:In an effort to prove this theory, I went on a quick regimen of steroids. I'm happy to report that not only did the jacket sleeves still fit without tearing, but my batting average went waaaay up and I am able to see just how much weaker everyone else is in comparison. Over the course of this experiment, these 'roids have helped me to understand that I should just KICK PEOPLE'S A-! whenever they annoy me. And that's been a lot, lately! People are just disrespectful! My wife said to me just today, "Good morning". Well, you can bet I showed her not to mouth off anymore!!
My best friend asked if I wanted to go riding today. I didn't feel like riding so I KICKED HIS A-!
So, the jacket sleeves do fit over my now massive arms AND there were no ill side-effects from this experiment. I look better than ever in the gear! And you BETTER NOT disagree!!
Ahh, my stupid phone's ringing! Gotta go rip that thing out of the wall!!
When did Barry Bonds join the forum? I must have missed that. Welcome to COW, Barry! Come for the gear, stay for home run records with an asterisk.

strider, I was a personal fitness trainer for 14 years back in the big apple. The average male ( if he does everything correctly ) can only gain around 5 pounds of muscle a year( drug free). I don't think at this rate this is going to be a problem anytime soon. maybe in a few years with training you might have to buy a new jacket but only one. also you have to put in acount that with this training you will loose fat ( and size with that as well). Your jacket is safe from ripping at the seams for some time.
..............and to show you that my jacket is safe aswell ( and to send Canyon dropping to the floor again )....................

Well, the man is also a firefighter. You can't even think about being in sub par shape with a job like that. Hats off to him for doin' it, too.

Again, your results may vary, but at the risk of sounding like a brainless side of beef - I've not seen many other Indy Gear members in the particular parts of the gym that I frequent...
You just need to show up at "my" gym ... We could share a glass of water..
Best regards

That so stereotypical of a view, which i would never call someone. Just because we actually get off our #####, unlike most lazy overweight americans (no offense to any of you bigger guys) we get refered to as steriod poppers, or meat heads. I think everyone should be working out, our bodies were genetically designed to grow and develope in size and strength. I think anyone who doesnt try to improve their bodies physical strength or health is wasting away a gift. Anyone can do it, and time is never and issue, there is always a way to find time to do something.
As to you ripping your jacket...why the #### would u lift with it on? They would limmit your movement so much lol Or is that not what u meant. My arms 17 now, i was at 13-14 4 years ago when i first started, 100% steroid free too!

The first thing I do in the morning is put on my gear (firefighter) around 16 lbs. and a old cast iron (SCBA) air bottle around 40 -45 lbs, and run up and down a 6 storys tower and I do this ten times ( 60 in total ).This takes about twenty minutes to complete. Then drop all that stuff off and run for at least a mile. I do the tower 2-4 times a week and run 5 times a week. The gym I don't go as often as I like to but, I'll make it a couple of times.

*cough* If you had to run around in 130 degree heat and suffering w/ dystentry I'm sure you would look 'skinny' as well.
I personally think that Harrison looked great in Raiders, and that's not just from a woman's perspective.
Seriously, I have always felt that Harrison looked incredibly fit and healthy in the Indy movies.
Oh my goodness!
Talk about fit!

Heaay! I got a hat like that...
"I'm workin on it I'm workin on it"
I've always thought Ford was a good shape because he looked fit, healthy, and strong without being too Robo-muscled...
I've also thought he was a hair cylindrical in the tummy region, but no complaining here because so am I ;c)
