I was out today in my Raiders lambskin and again have to look at every reflection I come across to check out the huge collar and how much I hate how it looks. When my Raiders lambskin arrived in Christmas of '04, I was surprised to see how much bigger the collar was when compared to my 2 Raiders Pre-D cowhide jackets. Agent5's recent post says that a truly accurate Raiders jacket has a collar of 2.75" at the tip, and reduces to 2.5". I decided to measure today when I got home, and found my Raiders collar to be a whopping 3.5" at the tip!!!

A good gust of wind, and I could take flight!! I have always been very disappointed with this and feel like I'm in a 70's jacket, but have not bothered to send it back to Peter to change it, as it's a lot of bother to ship it back to the UK. and I don't know if I would trust anybody locally to touch my beloved Wested!

I always assumed that this was an LC collar attached to a Raiders jacket in error but 3.5" seems huge for any jacket collar.

wow man, youll need to start wearing a chain ball to stay grounded. MY brand new raiders i got today measures about 3 inchs, but it looks fine to me, if i start nit picking at photos i might get mad lol.

I got my Raiders Goat in Christmas of '04 as well so it was probably made around the same time as yours. I measured my collar and it's 2.5 inches so it seems that you definately have some sort of mix up there.
Also, it seems to me that the collar would be one of the easiest things on the jacket to modify so if I had your problem I just might risk it.

I'd have to agree with Lightnin on this. I'd find a very reputable and trustworthy tailorer or seamstress and take it there. For any experienced person it should not be hard at all for them to get the collar size down.

I think Wested sometimes unknowingly adjusts the collar size when doing the standard jackets but if you were to ask specifically for a certain sized collar, you will get it if asked for.

I bought an LC jacket, it had a big collar (obviously). I asked Pater to change it for a Raiders and got the nice small collar.

They removed the whole collar and stand and put the new one on. I know this because the popper at the top disappeared.
