Todd's Dlx Bagstrap

Just purchased my first leather bagstrap from Todd's Costumes... got tired of the nylon one I've been using. I was just curious if anyone has had any experiences where the dye rubs off, or the rivets loosen excessively, or just overall "total bagstrap failure". I imagine they are high quality... I just like to try to know my equipment.

i just bought one myself for my MKVII and its veryyy good quality. There is only 1 part of the strap with perminant rivits, the other side has a screw type rivit that can be unscrewed easily but will hold very strongly. I dont think there will be any dye coming off, and todds site says it is sealed so it wont. I think as a new buyer its amazing quality and very comfy. Others who have had it longer will know more about the possible, if any side effects.

:D Well Indy...I hope the deluxe is great too...since I just ordered one myself. Also some undistressed gloves, and a whip holder. I'll post my thoughts when I recieve them. I would like to comment on the service I recieved though. Outstanding!!!! Every email answered promptly and politely. :D

I just bought a reg. holster from him and I already own the brown web belt , whip holder and deluxe bag strap.

I will say this the deluxe strap is very nice and works just fine. I bought a Mark VI bag from a place in Australia for $20 and put it on that and it looks just like Indy's bag.

Todd's items are great and he always gives excellent customer service. I never really have to wait to long for my stuff either.

I'm think of buying the budget gun belt from him next. Anyone already own that?

yea pitfall i had that same gun belt u have from walmart, it worked good, but i opted to pay the 11 bucks to get the budget belt. It was very good quality, and it has accurate hardware, which is important for the raiders look. If your doing TOD look then your walmart belt is jsut as good in my opinion. I bought a 34-36 belt and it actually measures 46 inch since he makes it bigger to wear lower. Buttt i found that it was still not big enough, because i wanted more extra belt slack to loop through ( indys belt seems to be longer like in Indygear pics). Todd measues the belt to 46 but 2 inches end up getting lost since it is folded over and snapped to keep the buckle on. So really the belt was only 44 inch. So i sent that back to get a 38-40 which should be total 50 inch (48 when buckels on). I also order a 36 brown web and it was too small, still not enough slack, so i sent it back for a size 50 which i can cut down to what i want. Id suggest anyone getting the belt to get a 50 or alot bigger than them so u can cut to what u like. But yea budget belt is def worth it, as well as the Deluxe strap.

As one who owns the strap in question, I can say without hesitation that is is of excellent quality. Have no fear.

I have the deluxe holster and strap. I love the quality. I also like how the holster is more thin, like the movie. But, one thing that has always buged me is the color. I can't stop thinking that the dark brown is really accurate.

But, I highly recommend them for the quality. And I love the smell of the leather!!

Let me chime in with the Todd love! My Todd's gear arrived the other day and I'm really pleased with it. In fact, here I am wearing it, while trying to escape from the depths of THE POST OFFICE

Why are you wearing the bag over the jacket?

Because I knew it would cause controversy on the board!

But seriously, I was just in a rush taking the photos as I had to go out soon after. Either way, it shows off the strap which puts us back on topic for the thread.

Glad to be of service ;)

Hey, it's screen accurate! Remember the bloopers in LC? Besides, I wear my bag over my jacket most of the time. It's easier for me that way.

Not really. But, again it is a preference. I mean, it is very clear that before Indy went into the cave to fetch the Idol, the holster is a lot lighter than the Jacket. Todds Deluxe (all though the quality is awesome) is too dark for this scene. Skip ahead to Cairo fight scene, it's almost perfect a color.

I have crushed it and bent it, not to over do it, so that it appears slightly lighter.

I think either way you go you will like it. I only wish the plug could be added to the budget one :) , then I would buy both versions.

Just got my Dlx. Bagstrap in the mail today. I'm quite impressed with the quality of it, but I thought it was dyed on both sides. The backside of mine doesn't appeared to have been dyed. Is it the same on anyone elses? I'll post some pics as soon as I get some time away from my schoolwork.

my deluxe strap is dyed both sides, is dark on both. Post some pics and let us see, then we can tell you if its ok.

And you can plug the end of the bugget holster with some scrap leather from the tandy leather craft bags, or any leahter from a craft store.

Great looking stuff, I have all TAG (Texas Action Gear) stuff but Todd's looks great too and I know he's got excellent service and great options budget wise (I'm going to be looking to some of his stuff soon methinks, and I'd always love to get some Rick O'Connel holsters, but that's not really indy... :c)

This may be too off topic, but does anyone know if Texas Action Gear is coming back? I had great service and products from him as well...

Alrighty, I finally have some pics of some of my gear (Fedora and Bag w/ strap) I couldn't figure out how to put the pics on here, so I just uploaded them all to my site. I'm still a newbie at this computer fad, so the pics are kinda large and take a few minutes to load, at least when I open it on my computer, so I apologize in advance for that. All that said, sorry for length, here it is.

The pics take a long time to load because they are full resolution ones straight from the digicam. Nice looking stuff you have.

[quote="Indiana_Tone"]Off to a great start, Indy1939! Which fedora is that?

My fedora is an Akubra Federation that I have had for about 3 years now.

I've been considering buying the deluxe strap, but my bag is of a different style. The strap uses d-rings to attach to snaps on short, adjustable straps attached to the bag. Could I reconfigure the strap to fit my bag? The bag is a vintage WWII courier bag marked "US Army, 1936." I even found a an old stamp and a piece of tooth (kinda nasty) in it. Needless to say I don't want to mess with my bag.

Any ideas?
