Well it has finaly arrived....my Wested horse hide is now in my hot lil hands and I have to say it is a beautiful jacket and I LOVE the feel of the horse hide. The weight of the jacket and feal of the leather makes my A2 (which is not some cheapo one) feel like nothing at all. I can really see that this should be a jacket that will last me forever.

I'll post some pics of the jacket soon. They won't be pics of me in the jacket YET. One of the reasons I bought the jacket was as incentive, I bought it one size smaller then what I normaly wear now. This jacket is one of my incentives for me to lose weight and by god I will. I have packed on to much weight workin a desk for the last few years so its time for it to start comin off. I can get the jacket on as is but zipped up its just to tight but hey once I lose a lil I'll be wearing my prize daily I'm sure. Until that point my old A2 will still have to cover my back. i figure 2 or 3 months and I'll be wearing it much mor comfotably

Thats a very inspiring post Rebel, and I know you can do it. You have set yourself a goal to wear the jacket so it should help you in your weight loss. I work out everyday and know what its like to reshape your body. If you plan on losing weight read alot about how to do so, or talk to some trainers. The biggest thing is stop eating all junk food, and SODA , sodas a big no no. To lose weight make sure you eat more often during teh day, close to 7 times, but not huge meals, healthy things. Eating every 2-3 hours like this will keep your metabalism up to burn calories. Most people think that if u starve urself youll lose weight, but actually its harder to lose weight that way because your body slows down and actually will try to store fat as a safety measure. Do cardio 5 times a week for about 30 mins too. Drink alot of water too, and limit your carb intake, dont completely eliminate it though. Eat more protien inplace of carb intake, i eat protien at every meal. For gaining muscle, try to eat 1 gram of protien per pound of body weight a day, i eat about 200 grams if i can. Hmm otherwise, you just have to really want to lose the weight, work hard, it will take some time but you can do it buddy. GOOD LUCK!

How stiff is the horsehide, in your opinion?

I would actually not say that the horse hide is really all that stiff at all, yes it is a heavy leather then say the lamb or goat but it is very pliable as it were. i would say its no worse then the average nice cow hide jacket. still flexable but a little heavier. i actually love the combination. i was worried it was going to be a stiff jacket (i have a buffalo hide motorcycle jacket that will stand on its own lol).
