A very curious photo of Amrish Puri...

Post by Shawnkara »

Just stumbled across this....

(for those not totally obsessed with the world of Indy, Amrish Puri was Mola Ram.)

Looks quite similar to the hat in Indy display that's on tour. (kind of short and tapered looking)

That's so cool. The ToD untold story - Mola actually won.

Was he one of those actors who did all sorts of films, to end up widely recognized for just Temple of Doom? Where was this photo taken? That hat does look very Temple-ish. In the TOD making-of that comes with the DVD's, I see several different cast members sporting their own Temple fedora. So maybe the fedoras were available to any of the cast members who wanted one, and Puri picked one up. That could be.

Appearantly, he was the biggest movie villain in all of India according to the DVD bonus material. "Bollywood" makes more movies a year than Hollywood does, so I guess he got pretty much all the fame he could ask for anyway. ;)
