Hi,
Can anyone comment on Ben Scotts whips. I am thinking of buying one but only if they are worth the money. They look great to me but I want to get the opinion of someone who has one or has tried one before buying one
thanx

Scott,
I actually cracked one of Ben Scott's whip at the last WWAC convention in March. I could not form an opinion due to the convention floor being so slippery and the length of the whip being at around 10 feet, I couldn't keep it off the floor. I think the overlay braiding does look good and from what I remember the whip had been weighted somewhat. The only thing unusual about Ben Scott's whips are the unorthodox design of his handle foundation. He uses a pipe instead of a nail spike. Anyway, I know Jim Markel and a number of others here have his whip so maybe they can chime in on the performance and quality of Ben's work. I need to get one of his whips or borrow one for awhile to do a more thorough analysis. I think it's time, since his name comes out more often.

Come on guys, his waiting list is booked so a lot of people must have his whip. Any opinion is welcome even if you don't have or have tried his whips. thanx

I have a Ben Scott(two at one point), and I have also seen a couple of my friend's Ben Scott whips. He does very nice work, and he will work with you on every minute detail of the whip. If you want the heel knot a certain shape, or a certain length handle or a particular weight; no detail is to small for Ben. If you have a picture of a whip from a particular scene from one of the Indy movies, send it to him and he will do the whip exactly like the picture.
Hope that helps,
Jim
