I've been watching this forum for a long time and have only posted once so here's my first actual topic post. This seems like a cool bunch of people and I hope to hang out here for awhile. You folks have provided alot of good info over the past year.
I just received these beauties for my xmas/birthday present. Thought I'd share with the rest of you.

Since I know the question will be asked.... I put one coat of kiwi dark brown polish and then one coat of pecard's leather dressing and let them sit over night.
Cheers

Hey, those look just like my boots!
I use the Kiwi polish too. I really like the color they have given my boots.

I was also kind of surprised at some of my "after treatment" pics. The shine from the flash made them look just like the ones on the "boot" portion of the main gear site.

He's right, that is a sweet color. I'd almost call it a 'whiskey tan'.
Good job!

No, it's when it soaks through your pores and colors your skin. Now, let me tell you about the summer I spent drinking too much Jack Daniels and Grape Wilers...

I thought Ronald WAS wearing Aldens. Oh, no, my bad, those were bowling shoes. (Carry on.)

pegasus,
Nice lookin' boots you've got there. Did you do anything special when sizing your boot like getting a half size smaller or larger?
Best,
Herr Jones

I have worn many sizes in my life in all different styles of footwear ranging from an 8 to a 10.5 (I'm not exagerrating) so getting a good fit online wasn't easy. For the most part, in normal everyday runners, dress shoes, casual shoes, etc. I wear a 9.5 and sometimes a 10. I followed the advice of the folks on the forum here and had myself measured at an orthopedic shoe store. They told me I was a 10E. Unfortunately, they were not familiar with aldens so I was still in the dark and just had to chance it. I figured I'd get the boots and the worst that could happen is I'd have to send them back....
That's exactly what happened. The 10's fit a hair too big so I put them back in the box and sent them back. The width was pretty much ok but they were just too long. I felt like I would trip going up stairs. It took about two weeks to get them back but that's becasue I sent them over xmas time so I'm not complaining. I exchanged them for a 9.5E which fits really well.
So...The moral of the story is (read here "my advice") if you are the kind of person who is always in between sizes, go with the smaller of the two sizes. But, if you always wear the same size and have never had the problem of being an "in-betweener", then go with your normal size.
Worst case senario? You invest in some boots...they don't fit...you send them back until you're happy. After all, for those of us in North America anyway, the cost of postage is a mere fraction of the cost of the boots. I had to pay 20 bucks CDN, no big deal compared to the price of the boots. Plus, you've waited this long to have a pair, a few more weeks waiting for an exchange isn't gonna kill ya.
Good luck.
By the way, where are you posting from? Norht America? Europe? Elsewhere?
