Vintage Jackets in L.A.

I happened to breeze thru Los Angeles a few days ago. On melrose Blvd, between Fairfax and La Brea Streets are a string of used clothing stores. I noticed quite a few vintagew leather jackets (in various states of wearability or disrepair).

Most common was the (not so vintage) USN G-1. ...most beat up to heck and over priced at anywhere from $80 to (Hah, you've got to be kidding) $150.

No big deal....

...But, in one or two shops on Melrose were real WW 2 horshide A-2s. The linings were mostly destroyed, but great to see the real-deal horse A-2s.

Also, a few 1930s/1940s civilian short leather jackets in horse. One label inside one jacket proudly proclaimed "genuine front quarter horse."

Those who live in L.A. are likely well aware of this shopping neighborhood...bit I though I would pass it on in case any of y'all happen to pass thru L.A. as I did and want a couple of hours diversion.

Best to All for 2006!
