My Wested Pants and Shirt (with PICS)

Here some pics i took today with my wested pants, shirt, mojave web belt and a not accurate sweater but it was needed

pretty cold here.
A little review now...
The pants... a bit hitchy at first for who's not used to suit pants but definitely comfortable (if you dont take the wrong size of course

). I feel like i could go in adventure with them or either to a wedding party

. Very versatle and strong pants. They match with a lot of clothes.
The shirt... i expected it to be too short on sleeves because i'm Medium but with long arms, happy to know that wested shirt sleeves are slighlty longer than the common M shirts so you will never have a too short sleeves! That's a really good feature for a shirt i think (well at least IMO it is eheh). Maybe the colour is not 100% screen accurate but the tissue is really high quality. It's a great shirt!
I can't wait to have my jacket back!!
In conclusion... wested shirt and pants might be not 100% screen accurate but they are two #### good clothes! A really high quality, they surely worths the price!
PS why the pics with the sweater? Don't know, they look cool

PPS if you see 2 white spots somewhere, it's just the dirty camera lens, that camera followed me in so many adventures... Erri Wan and his desktop adventures

Those look great, erri. It's a shame there isn't a watch pocket on the trousers, though. (that was posted for Hemingway Jones, as he KNEW I HAD to post that somewhere around here. (grins))
GREAT outfit!!
High regards! Michaelson

Erri, great pictures!
The pants and shirt look fantastic on you!

The way I understood it the pants are not made in the shop, so I don't think the Wested staff would add it personally. Might be worth a try though, I'm sure you'd like them a lot Michaelson. (Or maybe they can just send you a small swap of twill with the pants and you could have a tailor do it locally?)
They are worth every shilling indeed, and every penny too.
Oh, I forgot; Smashing, Erri!

Swindiana

Thank you Mr. Slater
What's all this about clock pocket? Was it on indy pants or is it just something on old style pants?

Touche'!

I can't argue with that.

A watch pocket was once on all gentleman's pants to accommodate a pocketwatch, which all gentlemen carried. It was often just above the pleat.
Michaelson, as you probably know, is a watch and pocketwatch aficionado, so he prefers trousers with these pockets.

Dark? Well as you can see i'm lighened by a lamp! (an amber lamp) I'll try to get some outdoor pics ... when the sun comes out!!
I think the colour in those pics are like in ToD (pankot palace rooms)... outdoor pics will show surely a ligher tone

Cool pics Erri!
You know who you look like & remind me of? Keona Reeves! (spelling?) (the dude from "The Matrix")
I bet if you put on a pair of black shades and a long black overcoat, you'd be a spittin' image, lol.
Kindest Regards,
Captain D
p.s- I quickly read in one of the above posts somewhere that someone didn't think that the Wested pants are made in their shop. Whoever mentioned it, I just wanted to say that I think that they're right. Gemma sent me an Email (when I was ordering my Wested pants) saying that the reason why it took so long for my pants to be shipped to my home was due to the fact that they were "waiting for them to arrive." They're probably made somewhere, and simply sold/shipped from the Little Wested House....

Peter is proud about making his products in England, he has some "off site" production ie another factory for some items. There might even be people working from home.
His invoices still have the Enfield address maybe they still use that as a factory?
Unlikely to be somewhere like India or the far east, he told me that he was certainly not keen on that! Funnily enough we were talking about my WPG Mkvii at the time.

Nice outfit.
Are Indy's pants really that dark brown in Raiders? What color does Wested call that and the shirt?
Does anyone on here know why Wested doesn't offer a more screen accurate color for the shirt?
Still looks great though.
Maybe someday I'll order a shirt from them.

In the 1930's, men's waists were worn much higher than today. I think you are wearing them just fine.

Last pic of today
under noon sunlight of my east window my the pants look a bueish colour IMO, the good thing that you can see from the right pic is that raiders pants are brownish... as well as my wested pants appear in the first pics i posted in this thread.
:post: sorry if the size of this pic is too big, i resized it on photobucket but it seems to be slow to upgrade

The first set of pics made both the pants and the shirt look darker then they actually are. I thought the color of the shirt looked tan. The new photos are much better and both the shirt and pants are much lighter than I first thought.

To the untrained observer, the Wested outfit is just 'nice' clothes. I wore my Wested shirt/pants/jacket to my wife's family Christmas get-together yesterday, and not only did I look good, but nobody had a clue it was Gear.

Yeah no one has idea it's gear!
Although i feel a bit like an US army officer in town

Tan shirt and brown pants look like that

Very nice indeed!
I had my pants tailored so I could wear them to that "wedding party" you speak of in your post. They don't have as full a break.
Enjoy the clothes,

I hope you do get to see them in person. They are not that grey. They are called 'pinks' for a reason. They have a pinkish hue in person. See the below picture. The Westeds are on the right.

Too gray, too brown

guys you cant judge colours from pics or video
Posted: Mon Dec 19, 2005 4:04 pm
by Feraud
Correct. Pictures and video can be very confusing. The best way to judge a color is in person.

I have the same pants. Indy fawn color. They appear more toward the light brown in person. Neither of the above pictures captures the real color.
They do not look like the "Pinks" at all. Lovely pants either way.
I'm assuming that Wested produced a pant that is reasonably close to the correct color. They look great with a light brown herringbone sport coat

Prof. Ed (Beardless)

You all are right, but the thing is that I like the old color of the wested pants more:
left: old right: new
But I don't want to start a discussion so, I say that these pants are defenetly great!

I didn't know about a previous colour of wested pants... do you think the previous was more screen accurate? Why was it changed then?
Posted: Tue Dec 20, 2005 2:32 pm

The first batch color has been discussed in several threads... the general opinion is that they were too light. The new color matches the one of the MBA pants very closely.
