New Wested trousers

The mailman just rang the doorbell and wanted me to sign for a package. It was from Wesred. Incredibly, the entire process took less than two weeks.
I just tried the trousers on and they are beautifully made. I got them unhemmed, much to my wife's chagrin. It doesn't hurt to have extra material.
I did notice that they had no fold wrinkles from their trip, and are a good weight. The pockets are flapped, but not scalloped.
The color is a "fawn". According to the label. I expected more of a greyish brown, but this color is even nicer. Nothing like the color posted on the web site which appears khaki.
The trousers go well with the WPG shirt. I expect these items of clothing to do double duty. They aren't going to be used as a "costume" as my wife refers to Indy gear.
The pants look great with a brown herringbone sportcoat.
I would think these trousers would be good for three season's.

Now, to get my orthodic boots

Best regards,

Prof. Ed

P.S. Those of you that like good adventure wear, what do you use for the fourth season, summer?

Congrats on the pants. I have 'em too and think they are great. The trousers are good for three seasons. If you have a bit of the masochist in you, try wearing them in the Summer! :)
I wore my Westeds on a Summer family trip to a waterfall. Not pleasant but not terribly uncomfortable either! :-s

I got both, the new Wested and new MBAs

Yeah, I got those same Wested pants. They came in about a month and a half ago. The fawn color was not what I was expecting either, ...so is it the Raiders color?

Oh, by the way, my new MBA pants came in this weekend. If you think the Westeds are great, ...the MBAs will blow you away. Way better. The stitching and placement of the seams are angled and they have cotton inside facings on the waist line. So, because of this, the pants fit to the contour of your waist and thighs, and then drape down. Just what the Dr. ordered.

The MBAs are alot more expensive than the Westeds, (at least $80 more)I have both the MBA and Wested, and they are both great, but MBAs tops it off big time.

I got the ToD/LC color and it is awesome. I plan to get the Raiders version too next month.

I also have the Magnoli adventure pants and they are also great. The thinner Merino 120 wool is great for all seasons, and the hot weather specially in the tropics were I live.

Saludos,

Erich.

Prof. Ed,
Before you get them hemmed, check the thread on the proper way of having them done. You need to take up four inches or so inside the pants to get the Indy look, to have them weighted to hang correctly, and to keep the threads of the hem out of the damaging teeth of your speed lacers.
-And, once again: "Go Speed Lacers! Go Speed Lacers! Go Speed Lacers Go!" Sorry, I can never resist that!

Any pictures available of your Adventure pants? The lightweight material sounds like an good option.
How is the color compared to the Wested pinks?

Thanks.

To answer that question, I refer to our always esteemed colleague, Koreana Jun.

Shorts, w/ Aldens (no socks), Hawiaan shirt or an Indy shirt tucked out.

Woh, back up a second! MBA as in Noel Howard? He's back in business? :-s

Thank you for the input.
Hemm, yours was very important. I would of scewed up for sure. I told my wife it was a jean hem!
I keep hearing MBA, I frankly don't know anything about the term or acronym, code, etc.
Please link me up. I doubt if $80 more is for me now, after all I don't teach again till next fall semester. Plus I need those shoesees for my feetees. Darn, I've been around the grandbabies too much
Now as far a pictures. My wife knows I am digitally challenged. A Minox I can use, not a digital and computer. She has a list of pictures to take: 1) my fedora to solve those problems, 2) the pants, and 3) more of Prof. Rambo. One day I will get her to follow through, but it might take leaving the "club" and then what good would the pictures be?

Best wishes and keep those suggestions coming,

Prof. Ed aka Prof. Rambo, aka Zeyda Eddie, and aka "Hey you, old guy"!

Yes, Noel Howard is back in business. I just got the ToD/LC pants from his new bach of his long awaited return. I thought everybody knew. He sold me a Raiders MBA shirt about two months ago that he had left over from his old stock....beautiful! He does not have a website at the moment, so you must email him. So, he's back in business. However, due to price shifting in these last days, the current price may certanly go up according to him, to cover manufacturing and materials costs. You can discuss this with him. His line is more expensive than Wested's that's for sure. It was hard to fathom $180 for a pair of pants, but I went for it, and I truly love what I got. I plan to get the other color too.

Saludos,

Erich

Tone,

The ones I got in October are a darker color.

No, mine are much more toward the brown shade.
As nicely as these trousers are made, they have shallow front pockets and do not have a belt loop over the rear waist seam. That is an important loop for it keeps the belt with the waist band and doesn't allow the riding up that can usually occur.

I'll ask our sartorial expert, Hemmingway Jones. Am I correct, HJ?

How does one email Mr. Howard? A link to have a "pipe dream" about

How did I become an expert on anything???
Actually, my limited expertise is limited to fashion coordination; what goes with what. As for what the back belt loop is for, I am not sure; though, it seems to me, there should certainly be one.

The only pants I have are the LL Bean dress chinos in taupe and they are fine with me.

Well, this picture is closer, but mine are definitely browner.

Remember guys, the original color is similar to the WWII Officer Pinks. Right? That's like a taupe with a rosy hint of color. That's the standard that MBA very closely (if not exact) matched. Just a little frustrating reading the thread and looking a pictures that are not even close to reality due to lighting (flash) or using florescent lighting as a source.

I can't wait either. I'm curious about the color you will get.
Sergi, has made some good points. I guess I was expecting something like the "pinks" Dad wore an an air cadet in WWll.

WEll you can walk into any army/navy surplus store and ocassionaly spot some wwII pinks trousers. Plenty around here in my location. You can see then reference the proper color.

Here in St Louie, the three surplus stores sell mostly modern stuff for hunters and teenagers that like knives:(

Did Wested send me the wrong color? I don't quite understand. The trousers say, "Indy" style Fawn.

I'm going to get them tailored today. I don't think the "screen accurate" hem will work for multipurpose pants.
I just took a dozen and a half or more khakis and dress pants down the basement.
Seems I've lost weight and gotten bigger in the middle. Nothing fits comfortably. I saw the doctor yesterday for my four month visit, and asked some questions. Everything was answered with," your getting older".
Now, I need trousers and have spent my money on other things ( Indy stuff of course). Isn't that always the case? Any khaki pants that you really like?

I think the Ol' Prof. is going to have to be a bagger at the grocery. My body isn't up to it, but what else can I do when there is no teaching assignment? Substituting is not much of an option. I'm not joking here.

My wife's discussion with me this morning has left me in a "funk".

Tattered and po,

Ol' Prof Ed

P.S. I expect the Binkster and Jerry to have "a field day" with this post :!: But I do need ideas for a job. I can't think at the moment

Ed, I think Wested only makes the pants in one color, so I don't they could have sent you the wrong pair. Honestly, all that matters if that you like them. :)

A pat on the back for ol' Prof. Ed.

Prof.Ed, I do not think they sent you the wrong color. I believe they currently have one version of their 'pink' trousers.

Hope you are happy with em. I understand complaints about the fit of clothes. I have never been happy with the fit of most of my stuff. Everything always requires a stitch in or out, here and there. My wife knows how particular I am about the fit/style of clothes. When I find something acceptable, I am a customer for life! :)

All I know is the Wested trousers are very, very close to the MBA trousers which are modeled after original officers pinks, as Serg pointed out. I doubt you got the wrong colored pair of pants.
I think Wested did a nice job on the pants. The MBA's seem slightly more durable, but the Westeds are nice, nice pants. I'd be fully satisfied if I didn't already own the MBA's.

I agree, that I don't think that you received the wrong color. I haven't had the time to wear my new Wested pants outside and see how they look in different lighting conditions. My college semester ends tomorrow evening, so after then, I'll have more time to decribe them more accurately.

When mine arrived, I too, thought that they were kinda too brownish. After closer inspection, I relaxed after seeing how they are a "soft brown." Not a flat/dull brown at all. I think Wested did a great job on em.' I haven't seen the MBA's but I'm sure they're awesome, and hopefully one day I can afford to get em' also.

Kindest Regards,
Captain D

Sorry if i arrive too late in this thread. As some of you already know i just bought shirt jacket and pants from Wested. I expected the pants more... mmh olive? They are light brown but i haven't tried them in the sun yet so i can't really write any detailed reveiw about them.

I never heard of different colours in wested pants! I hope it's just a fake news
In the tag inside the pants i found...
N°.......32 (these are the waist inches)
Style...w.lc (i hope i'm reading well)
Size.....
Price...
Can anyone check the inside paper tag in the pants (if you havent ripped it off yet)?

We are on the same page! Folks, I agree. Wested's trousers are very close to MBA's, which are exactly like Officer Pinks. This thread is starting to sound like one of those Monty Python skits. Yikes!!!

I took the pants to be tailored today. They really didn't change color in the daylight.
They are beautiful pants. I'm having them shortened with a four inch hem if it looks good. I explained about boots, etc. But since I'm using these for other purposes. the seamstress might make the hem smaller. OK by me.
The color is brown enough that you couldn't wear it with a navy blue blazer like I could on an older pair of Ralph Lauren Polo "pinks". I don't have enough let out to make those beauties fit. :(
For my shroud, after my wife causes my another coronary, make sure I'm
buried in whatever Indy stuff I accumulated. We do grave side services, so even in death, know one will know except you guys.
I wonder how a fedora will fit in the casket?

Feeling so so,
