AH yes. One of the Brazilian contract Smiths! Good gun..and a good shooter, from what I'm told.

Sweeeeet. I found one in a local shop about a year ago but didn't have the extra cash at the time. It needed a refin, though, since someone had "greyed" it prior. :?

Sounds like a good deal! If I were you I'd snatch that one up. All you'd need to do to make it Indy accurate is have the barrel cut t0 4".

...looks like a nice specimen, but Clay has no moolah right now...at least not until after Christmas. The cost playing Santa each year is getting out of hand!

....yeah, there's a lot of "Parkerized" S&W M1917's out there. Too bad Indy didn't carry a Colt M1917....you can find them by the basket fulls for some reason. :-k

The one I saw had been poorly "reparkerized" which is why I would've reblued it if I Ihad gotten it. It made it look like it had been covered in grey matte spray paint. :?

WELL, technically you COULD get away with getting one as an Indy related revolver, as it WAS a Colt 1917 that was the actual 'stunt gun' that was tossed out of the car window in Temple of Doom. Willy DID have the Smith handed to her by Indy, and tossed it out the window, but if you still frame the shot seen from the outside of the car, the actual gun that goes bouncing down the side of the car was a 'stand in' Colt New Service model 1917.

For a LONG time it was the still from this film that lead folks to believe that the Colt was what Indy had all the time, and was even reported in the Q&A section of the NRA magazine in 1989 that the three revolvers used by Indiana Jones in the three films were, Raiders/Smith and Wesson HE2. Temple of Doom/Colt NewService model 1917, and LC/Webley Mk VI. I still have the clipping from that magazine, so even the NRA wasn't sure.

Gunbroker is great.. Nice find. I like auctionarms too.

I lost my half-moon sight about 2 years ago. It was replaced with a Ruger sight. It's close but not the S&W sight.

Good gun..and a good shooter, from what I'm told.
I like shooting it. It hurts after about 75 rounds. Here's mine in action.
