Anyone else had problems with snaps coming out?

Shortly after getting my lambskin Wested, and on the same day, the snaps "came out" of the pockets of my jacket. That is, the two-piece n****e portion of both snaps came apart -- it looks like the end that goes into the part on the flap is broken off. I was at a local leather repair shop for an unrelated reason and they told me the only way to repair it would be to open up each flap, put in all new snaps, etc. I'm concerned about how good a job they would do, so I may just live without the snaps -- the problem isn't apparent when you look at the jacket.

Anyone else have this problem?

Apparently, they had a bad batch of snaps a little while ago. (Ginger ones , the Brandy ones were more expensive) 8)

Joking aside, there was a bad batch. Wested can send you a replacement set, but if you are concerned that this place might spoilt the jacket maybe do what you were thinking of doing and let them be. They are sort of cosmetic anyway.

I remember reading about something like this before.
I believe they contacted wested and were told to send it
back and the snaps would be replaced no charge. It was along
thoes lines.

I'm not sure I could part with my jacket long enough to send it back to Wested for repair -- maybe next summer when it's too hot to wear the jacket in Phoenix!

It doesn't affect the appearance of the jacket, so . . .

My one attempt at distressing another jacket tought me that sometime's it is better to leave well enough alone :D

I wrote a while back that this happened to my predistressed cowhide jacket. Peter was to send replacement snaps, but I never got them, and learned to live without it. I, too, was told that the repair would entail removing the stitching, and replacing the unit. I opted not to. All told, I wore the jacket without the snaps, and had no problems and did not really notice.

So I take it this isn't an issue with the newer Wested jackets?

My Wested is only a couple months old, and it happened to me.
