I'm on a roll today. 8) Here's some comparison photos of some repro Indy belts. To bad I don't have one from Todd's Costumes to put in there. :( Then it would be even more useful.

Anyone else have a Noel Howard belt that has that strange silver paint overspray on it? That's what it seems to me to be at least. It's on the front an the back of the belt. It's a little heavier on the inside though and there isn't much on the whip holder.

The Noel Howard really looks good - but it was quite pricy too back them.

But sureĀ“s looking good!

Best regards

My Raiders NH gun belt doesn't have anything like the overspray on it. Curious

Maybe the previous owner was just careless with it...

That K-Mart belt doesn't look half bad, actually.

Yeah, it's a little narrow, and too long for me, but the buckle looks pretty good. I like the leather also. I got it from some one COW as my first belt.

Happy to see someone else with an interest in the gunbelts. I have the above belts too, plus the Todd belt and untill recently also the Lost-Ark belt.
So far only the Noel Howard belt has been able to live up to the standards I expect from a Raiders gunbelt. I wont say the others isn't worth the money, but they are very far from the quality that Noel Howard provided. The Keppler belt is the only one I havent held in my hand so I cant say anything about it.

As a result I have had a local leather expert cut some belts for me and I'm really looking forward to try to make some belts myself. My MBA belt is still the undisputed champ, but I use my TAG belt and my new Todd for everyday use. When they break in they win a little however.
If anyone in COW knows where to find screenaccurate gunbelt buckles in europe I would really like to know about it. I have contacted Noel Howard today and hope he will find time to help out on this one.

Here's a few Todd's for comparison:

Indy K's diplomatic good manners demand that I own up.
as the maker of Indiana Dudley's Lost-Ark.net leathergoods, I
mistakenly used a dye applicator previously used with shellac on the
strap and belt I made for Indy K.
as a result, the dye ran in the rain,he returned the goods, and we
refunded his money. that is the explanation for his polite reference
above.
it also explains the recent recall and replacement of a batch of straps.
sorry to anyone affected, especially Indy K, and thanks for bringing
the problem to our attention, and not complaining about it on COW.
a red faced Templar.

Thanks Templar, I still beleive You make a very good belt and strap, I guess I was just unlucky to be among the customers on a very unlucky time. However, Your customer service is beyond compare and I wish You all the best.

PS: I'm still interested in the brass-buckle...:-)

Nice pic comparrison.

The NH belt was not good to go right out of the box. It needed a little tweaking as well. Still, it too is my favorite belt. I found an exact metal keeper at a thrift shop and had a local leather shop replace the whipholder with a custom one that fit my DM perfectly.
Looks like the belt in the pic is ruined. I have 2 NH belts and both are a much, much darker color. The one pictured looks very light.

Ruined? Maybe just a ligher dye?
Do you know what year those NH belts you have were made Agent5?

1999 and 2003. I got them directly from him. Well, maybe not ruined, but definitely much lighter than mine or all the others I've ever seen.

HI,

My Todds gunbelt back side is natural leather with no dye. Did the original have the back side dyed and if so what could I use to dye it?

Mine has a finish on it. It's actually pretty smooth like the front, just not quite as smooth.
