worn pre distressed cow and lambskin comparison

Post by eaglecrow »

I just borred my old lambskin jacket which was made in 1999 for me. I sold it to a friend of mine 2 years later and switched to my currently used predistressed cowhide which I bought off from an "English archaeologist" (are you still round on this board?).
I can not tell how old the predistressed cowhide is, but I guess it must be in the same age.
So we have here to 6 years old wested, both in worn condition.

lambskin: marked as 38, but it is more a 40

lambskin shows some (visible) repair sews on the slip-pockets. I tried to warm my hands in them once, after that I had to get both pockets fixed.
back shows a little hole., sleeves show a view little scars from leaning against ruff walls, tables, ground, etc., so does the shoulders.
Right body side shows wonderful wrinkles, left side seems to be newer. very little handdistressing with sandpaper and very little aceton (not visible on the picture) areas which are treaded with aceton are brown, not grey :!: slim fit arms, still fits me although it's a bit too narrow in the chestregion.
Since my friend care for it like a baby and I know how it aged on me, I'd say that this jacket would look perfect after 5 years of wearing it in sunlight and stuff (if it would survive outdooractivitys)

predistressed cowhide: 40 regular

of course, more round shoulders than the old lambskin
Although it is "pre" distressed, it shows very much of natural distressing, triangle damage on the left sleeve. Needs another thread of anticque finish soon

How about a picture of the lambskin on you to give some idea of how the 38 fits in comparison to the 40 that you now wear (and not satisfied w/ fit).
