The original WPG MKVII that I ordered last week arrived safe and sound on my doorstep today. As some other members said, there was no VAT.

I am amazed that this is a 60+ year old bag. It is in an excellent condition, no rust or dry rot that I can see. I will give it a more thorough going over tomorrow. It is only slightly dusty, slightly musty.

I was in the army and used much newer web gear that was in much worse shape. This bag could've passed as current gear - I am very impressed with the product that I received.

Congratulations! They really are great bags. Mine is 63 years old to be precise, and still as strong as the day it was manufactured. :D

Congratulations, Matei.

I'm sure you've read the MKVII threads - I recommend gently handwashing an original MKVII (followed with a good rinsing).

Then, you have a great utility bag to start filling up with all kinds of useful items. Have Fun.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the tip. I indeed scoured the threads for the best method of cleaning the bag. Since it was just a bit dusty, I did the ol' warm water/wee bit of washing up liquid and let 'er sit in a bucket for about 2.5 hours. After that I rinsed it and put it in the loo to dry.

By the morning it was almost all dry. It really has kept its shape as well!
