The washington suit looks very period indeed! Is it made according to existing period specs, or did you design it yourself? Either way, beautiful work!

Indy, are your prices in USD's? Just wondering. BEAUTIFUL suit. I would like to see the 3 piece vested suit offered as well. A vested suit is hard to come by anymore....especially a period suit.

WOW, always admired your work, and this is the icing on the cake.

I cannot tell you how impressed I am with your site and offerings! If only I wasn't totally overwhelmed with two trips, including the QM, and some end of the year bills, including Christmas! Come January, I have my eye on one of your shirts!
The suit looks great as well. It is a great price for Super 120, which is a very soft wool. I hope to get one of those early in the year. I'll wear it to the bank!

All the designs on my site will be copies of actual vintage suits or "made-for-film" vintage-style suits. I've got two three-piece designs which I'll be adding shortly... as well as tux jackets and a tweed coat. I'll keep you all posted...

The weight of the cloths for this suit are all in the 8-9 oz. range. I'm going to look into some heavier-weight winter options as well.

All tailor-made items will take about a month to make, then shipping is about a week.

Do you tailor the pant length to have a modern break, or do you got a tad shorter? I was under the impression that a period correct length does not result in a break. (Or did I misunderstand?)

Assuming you do hem them to a non-modern period-accurate length, would the person ordering just send you their inseam length? Or do you leave them unhemmed?

The length of the pants are based on your measurements. I ask for pants length (from top of waist to bottom of leg) and inseam (from crotch to bottom of leg). So what you send is what you get.

I'm not sure what's the better look for "authentic vintage" as I've seen both longer and shorter legs. I remember the military reg (at least a few years ago) was when standing tall there should be only one buckle in the pant leg, no more. I can provide pants unhemmed if you prefer, or military hem (longer in back than in front). The vintage pants I have are quite long (I'm six foot tall and where them high above navel, so if these belonged to someone who didn't wear the pants long he would have been REALLY tall and VERY thin for his height).

In the end... these are custom made, so tell me what you want, and we'll get it right.

It's curious you mention that extreme length...I recently picked up a vintage suit, the jacket of which fits me PERFECTLY...but the pants are - oddly - six inches too wide and six inches too long. Wearing them higher might explain that (and the high rise to the pants...looks like a 9" zipper!).

Regarding the fabrics: they are very similar in weight and drape. The Cashmere blend has a bit of sheen to it, while the 120 has very little and the 130 practically none at all. Likewise the Cashmere is the silkiest in feeling while the 120 and 130 is a little coarser.

Will the jackets have surgeon cuffs (working buttons)?

May I reccomend you also sell the eye of ra cufflinks? it would be a lot nicer to be able to order a complete setup from one page.

Oh yeah I forgot about those cufflinks. As soon as you have the dinner jacket ready to purchase I'll be getting ready to order!

Working buttons on the cuffs will be optional. I've been working for quite a while on Horus cufflinks, but am having trouble finding someone that will produce the right quality at the right price. When I find that balance, it is definitely on my list of future offerings! Will keep you all informed.

I just added a generic 1930s three-piece suit to my site. It's called the "Chinatown". I got the idea from one of Jack Gittes' suits which had an extra belt panel on the back of the coat.

In another couple of weeks I'll be adding a similar three-piece suit for you professor types, called the "Marshall".

As this business is getting a bit expensive to start up (I can't very well afford one suit in each style for myself), I'd like to make a general offer to members of the forum:

If there is a particular style of suit you're after that I don't have on my site, let me know. If it is something I'd like to add, I will calculate the price, then take 10% off for you. This way, you can get your suit at a lower price and I can photograph it and add it to my site as a new offering. Here are some current suits I'm looking to add:

-TOD Dinner Jacket: (I've already worked this out at costing $330, so I'll do the first one for only $295).
-Casablanca Dinner Jacket: (I haven't worked out the prices, but I'm guessing it'll be the same as the TOD jacket).
-Venice Pier Suit: $299 (first one for $269).

If you're looking for a suit from a particular film or vintage ad, e-mail me and we'll discuss material, prices, etc.

If there was ever one suit that nearly every guy has looked for at one time or another it is THE gray suit from "Goldfinger," the one with the vest that Frank Abignale ("Catch Me If You Can") had his tailor make. That would be something.

And if you buy ten of them you get a free Aston Martin!

Hey Magnoli: I had Just one suit question? On the 30's suit, can it be made with the distinctive 30's back belt? (I can't remember what the silly things called). At this time of the day..I'm too lazy to dig on the Fedora Lounge.

I'd actually really like to get a grey suit based on the one Alec Baldwin wears in "The Shadow", A grey ps, a blue ps and a three piece brown ps.
All a man needs....and maybe a tweed, and a tux and....ah....maybe its not all a man needs

Let's see... I'll look into the "Goldfinger" suit. Is the one from "Catch Me If You Can" accurate? If so, I've got that film, so I could do some screen grabs of it. I'd guess that this would be about the same price as my "Chinatown".

The "Chinatown" suit does have the typical back belt built into the rear of the jacket; have a look at the images on my site.

That's a good question. I assume it is, but I'm not sure. I don't have that film on DVD. I do have "Goldfinger" though. Honestly, I have been doing searches for that suit for years. I can't be the only one. I think you would do brisk business on those. I know I would have to have one.

That's the news I was waiting to hear . I wanted to wait & order the shirt & pants together (once I can afford them ). Your suits look amazing, as well. I can see I will end up spending way too much.
