Well, I've had it 5 days now and I gotta say it's a good hat.
I'm really glad I got one size up becuae I steamed the brim a bit to get the roll out of it (why do they do that) and in the process I'm sure some steam hit the band and may have caused some shrinking. It fits a big snug right now but I'm hoping as it conforms to my head it will be prefect. I am going to trim the band but I'm going to call this hat store and ask if they'll do it , I'm scared to death to touch it but it needs to be done. I do still wish it had more red in it, it's such a flat brown hat. I really wanted one with a reder tone to it.
All in all I'm happy.

Trimming the rim is much easier than you would think, most of the unevenness can be easily removed by sanding the edge with a low grit paper. Takes about 5 minutes to mark the edge (I have always used black ballpen), just make sure the marks are less than 10mm apart to make the cutting easier. The actual cutting takes about 2 mins with some sharp scissors.

Trust me it's easy, and you can't tell that you've done it once you've finished sanding.

Well, you were right. i cut it just now and it turned out great. I only took 1/8th of an inch off. I was tempted to take more to make it fit my face better but I didnt want to lose the indy look. I used the dotted chauk system and a brand new pair of sissorrs. I took a very even amout off and I'm sooo glad it turned out. I was scared to death because I paid so much for and and if I'd ruined it, I would have been upset to say the least but it turned out great!

Thanks to all
George

Ps. I prayed before I did it so thanks big man
