I just thouht I would let any of you americans who ordered a wested it may take a while. I talked to the postmaster whos a friend of mine in my town what was going on. Originally it was to prod him into getting me mine sooner, you know, locate it inside the post office, but he said things can now take up to four weeks in customs. Illinois.

Oh holy @#$%. I may never get my jacket.

They always say "up to" CYA(their). Same thing here in Canada. I talked to someone at my local post office because I never got a package from the States after two weeks(two weeks is usuaully the max from the US) and was told that. A few days later it came in. And checking the customs sheet, it was released the day I paid a visit to the post office...hmm.

wow, I must have been lucky becuse my jacket only took two weeks to get here ( oregon ).

He wasn't trying to appease me though, he was being honest. He actually went and checked for me, three hours later he called and said nothing. He is a good friend, and said that when it came in, he would bring it over himself. He knows how excited I've been. Illinois

I was told some overseas packages can last months in customs.

I recently shipped a package to Germany that took 2 months to get.

I didn't know that Germany even HAD a Pony Express...

I ordered my jacket just last August and it only took 20 days to get to Los Angeles. Hopefully, you guys don't have to wait much longer than that.

All this talk of delays in customs seems really interesting to me. I regularly ship things all over the world, Europe, Middle and Far East, and even South America and have never had anything take more than 10 days tops and usually just a week. Always us Priority USPS. Watches mostly but knives and airplane parts also.

Ordered my Wested Horsehide and it was here in just less than a month with only 6 days in transit. Frustrated now because it seems to be taking longer to shorten the sleeves than to make the whole coat. Gemma did say that they were getting really busy at Wested. Hopefully not too much longer. Hopefully not too much longer. Hopefully not too much longer........

I'm really hoping I get my jacket in next week. The tracking system still says awaiting customs clearance and its Friday. :evil: I don't think customs runs on Saturday but I could be wrong. This is when you start getting crazy thoughts of stealing a mail truck, driving it to NY then breaking into customs and getting your package.

Jeez, if westeds take a month to get through customs.I better order mine soon if I want to get it by christmas.

I sent my beaver AB to Steve for a reblock. Should i be worried?

My jacket just got out of customs today so it took around three days for it to process. Not too bad but I hate the fact you don't really know how long its gonna take.

Worried about what? That you have to wait a bit longer for your second hat to be reblocked? I wouldn't be worried at all.

I got my wested in today! The tracking system that wested uses is very vague! By the way it read I thought it was being loaded on a truck in NY today. To my suprise I got home and there is a little plastic bag package! The package is much smaller than I imagined it. It fits perfectly but I'm not able to take any photos of me wearing it now. Plus I have to kinda fix that collar flip up problem.

You know, I never even worried about customs, and I got my jacket in a timely manner. I guess it just makes the wait easier for you if you don't know things like this beforehand.

My jacket just came a couple of days ago and I had to pay an extra $38 because of some "issue with customs" the mailman called it. I paid because it was either that or watch him carry away my jacket that I'd been waiting to get for a whole month. That's right, my order was processed by Wested on the 19th of Sept. and I got the jacket on the 19th of Oct. I don't know how much of that time was in customs. I do know that when I ordered a bunch of car parts from England they spent about a week and a half in customs.

You have no idea why he was asking you for money and you still forked it right over? He should have had a detailed description of what and why you owed it.

Well I know my mailman pretty well and he's a nice guy so I don't think he would have pulled one on me like that. He did have the paperwork to back up the charge and I also had to sign two documents. The reason for the charge simply wasn't stated and I guess I have to call them to find out what it was. I'm not really concerned nor do I care enough about it to pursue it. Simply thought it was interesting.
