Just wondering if you guys could recommend a good whip form your experiences. I'm not looking for anything too great just something nice and solid for somewhere between 200 and 300 dollars.
Thanks

Contact Bernie Wojcicki at www.em-brandwhips.com (I think).
If not for getting a good Indy-looking whip at a good price, then for great and courteous customer service.
He'll look after ya!

I would most definately have to second that. He makes great quality whips that are VERY indy (if you tell him you want an Indy style). I have a em-brand that I got off the classifieds and it is a sure beaut! I love it...

Thanks for the advice guys...sounds like a good guy with quality products. However, on second thought, for the moment maybe I should go with something a bit more economical...I totally forgot about the Keppler whips. They have a great price but how is the quality?

I havent had much experiences in whip, but Jim Markell at ECWHIPS.com has good prices, you should check him out, he's taking a few weeks off because of something wrong with his elbow, but he's a good guy.

Get better Jim!

Actually I think he's taking longer than a few weeks off. It's my understanding he's wanting to refine his whip making skills after letting his elbow heal. Jim please correct me if I'm wrong. But yes, an awesome whip indeed.

Dakota Jones, my recommendation to you is save a little more money for a whip and then buy the best you can. I have found the old Chinese proverb "buy quality cry once" to be very true with whips. A quality whip will last for years and be easy to crack, a cheap whip may be impossible to crack, ever and break down in less than a month.

The little extra you spend may be the difference, good luck!

I couldn't agree more. If you would just adjust the budget to around the $250 - $300 range, you would stand a better chance in having a better experience.

ITG,

The elbow is still bugging me, but I worked on your 8 footer last night and made some headway on it. It's just about done! Sorry to take so long with it, but I can only plait for so long before the elbow starts to hurt really bad and it keeps me from being able to pull hard on the strands. I've had tendenitis for a few years, mostly from sports and weight lifting, but the whipmaking doesn't help. Once I finish the 8 footer for ITG I'm going to stop for 3 or 4 weeks and get myself a cortisone shot. Then I should be ready to go again and make some of the test whips I promised to make.
Keep your eye open for a package sometime in late November, Sergei. :)

Best regards,
Jim
