How I store my hat

Post by prairiejones »

There have been threads in the past regarding the way some people keep their hats. Well, here's where Cairo spends the night. This is a hat box that my wife gave me for my birthday. I can keep my wallet, phone, pocket knife, and any smaller items in it. And it's a perfect spot to set Cairo.

But you don't jam it IN the box, right?

I've been sneaking through fabric stores looking for those styrofoam heads...

...might just have to breakdown and make headcasts of myself. THAT won't freak out my wife...

P.S. PJ - That is one cool box. Know where she got it?

Thanks a lot. I couldn't be happier.
Simply picture the hat you want and then follow the steps here.

I saw his prototype last year. It's a BEAUT! I totally believe the 'can't tear them up' statement!!!

It's just the nature of the Adventurebilt. Push the sides in a little, and you get reverse taper.

It looks like the hat is bigger than the hatbox. How does the hat fit in it?

Yep, much of the look comes from styling. And, these hats look better if you wad them up and then style. I do not do this here as I would not want to send out a hat that did not look new. I can get that bulging looking by slapping the creased crown down on a hard surface and then pushing the sides in and repeating this several times. The Cairo hat was squished down from the top, hence the bulging, mushroom sides. It did not come from HJ like this. Fedora

It doesn't. PJ keeps it on TOP of the box & his pocket contents inside

Wouldn't that make it a pocket contents box instead of a hat box, then?
