Club Obi Wan

From the discussions there have been concerning left/right flopped pics in the Raven sequence I have noticed something and wonder if one of our more learned hat officionados can answer:

Is the bow on the fedora on the left for a mans' hat and on the right for a ladies'?

I say this because I have seen quite a few ladies panamas and fedoras online with the bow definately on the right hand side. eg.



Or is that common knowledge and a duh-huh! type question?

I hope I haven't got anyone frantically rebashing their hat right now!

Seems to be the fashion norm in side changes on mens and womens hats, though through this hobby I've discovered there is a European version, and a U.S. version when it comes to the placement side of a jacket zipper.....so why not the bow on a hat?
