Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

Koreana and I had a conversation similar to this one at the last "summit" we had.

I personally think they're a good element to the outfit. I found a good pair at Home Depot. I like them a lot better than the Wells Lamont. Mine are "Stanley."

I've been going nuts trying to find a pair that look right AND are usible. I got a pair of Mid-West that are a size too big on my desk but are comfortable and do the job.

So, Yea... you need the gloves.

Hey,

Yeah, I think the Gloves gives the outfit, not just more of an Indy-look, but also helps to give the outfit more of an "archaeology" look in general, as well.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought an "EXCELLENT" pair of Wells Lamont gloves for only $10. The color I got is "EXACTLY" like the color used in Raider's when Indy goes under the truck. If I had to give it a good description in color, I would say that mine are a nice "dirty-while" color. I even use them when I work outside to make them look even more authentic.
Regards!

Yes, I definitely think you need the gloves. I mean, if you were out there lifting all this heavy stuff (Ark) and rappelling (into the Well of Souls) and climbing up your whip (from the back of a truck), you would indeed need gloves. Hope this helps.

Is the outfit considered complete without the gloves?

In my opinion, yes.

It's been my experience that whenever I'm in full Indy garb in a public place, people usuallly say, "Killer costume, man! What's with the gloves, though?"
You know what, they're right!
Jones wore them in the Raven Bar shootout, Well of the Souls, and the truck chase - that's it!
Compare that to the whole trilogy, and it isn't much.
So yes, I believe (based on the strength of how often you see him WITHOUT gloves throughout the films) that an 'Indiana Jones' outfit is complete, irrespective of the gloves.
I know that 'Raiders' purists (myself included) will beg to differ (and who could blame them), but the gloves aren't typically recognised as part of the ensemble, based on public perception.

For a 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' look, the gloves are a must.
For a generic 'Indiana Jones' look, who needs 'em?
It's kinda like asking, "Is a Jones outfit complete without the LC black tie?"
Well... we all know the answer to that question?

Regards,

Rod

P.S - Remember, guys.
The VERY FIRST time we see 'Indiana Jones' in 'Raiders', was he wearing gloves???

I rest my case.

I went to Wal-Mart Germany but I haven't found the gloves. Maybe they get them someday.

The gloves are one of the gear items that you need an extra pair. You may not need them to have a complete outfit, but they certainly round out the look. Plus, they are highly useful for a number of tasks. I can't imagine crawling under a truck without them.

I went hiking in my gear (What else is Renderking gonna wear? Nothing? Don't want to drive the lady hikers wild, do I? The Wife would kill me or at the vary least scratch they eye's out of the dames treating me like eye candy... did I just digress?) with the dogs and I needed the gloves cause the leashes were cutting into my hands.

Brand new Mid-West heavy gloves that are now scuffed to ****, if my hands were that scuffed they would look like hamburge.

Do you need gloves? Oh yea.

Sorry Schwammy, I've been wondering the same thing. They always looked like an off-white color to me(i.e. the Raven bar scene where they weren't covered in dust and dirt).

But as far as them being necessary, I think if you are going for a Raiders look they are a must-have item, no question. But in regards to the other two movies.... I can't say exactly why, but the gloves just don't seem like they would go right in any of the other movies. They just wouldn't fit in. There's just something...different about Raiders.
