Celebrating My AB Re-Block!

No, it's not the gray one, but I did have my trusty brown reblocked and I bashed from a frame of film from MK's page of Indy in the Raven Bar. Basically, the brim has that upwards pinch and there is a little curl on the otherside. The humps are relatively symmetrical and the crown has not been smashed down like a SOC; that happens by the time he leaves the Raven Bar.
Of course, these pictures show almost none of that! The reason... Indiana Spielberg, who is all of five feet, I think, and I am 6'2", so you get a lot of shots up my nostrils. In these pics, it looks more like the Peruvian jungle hat, so I added the Indy Pic. Oh well, it's a Raiders Hat and I love it!
Still, without further ado, I give you... my hat!!!!
Can you imagine how cool this suit will look with my gray hat?
Where's my Tommy Gun?
Break out the champagne! Celebrating my new hat! Or maybe I need something a little harder???
To you Steve, thank you for a beautiful hat!

Great looking hat, Hemi.
Looks like you might be knockin' back some Basil Hayden's there.

But are your nostrils screen accurate?
MAN, Hemingway, does that hat look sweet! That settles it, after bills are paid, I'm sending mine in for a reblock, too.

Oh, thank goodness! I thought that they had discovered the Chachapoyan Temple had two entrances.

that hat looks fantastic, It's hard to believe that it's a reblock. Hemingway enjoy it.

Great reblock and bash, Hemingway.
How long did you have this hat prior to reblocking it?
P.S.> Peruvian Jungle Hat ... hadn't heard that bash name before.
However, it looks a lot like my Idol Grab with the exception of the bottom of the front crease ... no after further review - it looks exactly like mine.
What is the difference between the Idol Grab and the Peruvian Jungle?
('cause I have been fiddling with my bash off & on like everyone else ... maybe I morphed my hat into another scene
)
Best Regards,

Thank you, sir! I haven't been to the Garment District since... last Halloween. Hey, I wonder if they have a prop gun there???
Do you think this suit would be good for the QM?

Thank you, Joe. I appreciate your kind words. I love pinstripes also. Sometimes, when I wear this suit, I feel like I should have a red carnation on. BTW, the reason I am wearing it is because I just got home from work.

My body is a temple, my friend.

I'll tell you Number Six, it looked brand new when it came back. II almost thought it was a new hat!

Best Regards,
Thank you, Spooky! I had it for almost a year. It really didn't need a reblock; I just figured I'd send it off for maintenance before the fall came to New England.
I think I may have coined the phrase, "Peruvian Jungle Hat." Basically, I was trying for a Raven Bar and got pretty close. I couldn't get a photo that reflected the top of the hat, which is vital to a Raven Bar, so I looked for a photo that looked like my hat, and there was the photo of Indy by the river there in S. America. I am sure it is very close to an Idol Grab; the brim is a bit more structured.
I wouldn't worry about it. Bash it to be Raiders and it will transition from Idol Grab all the way through to the truck chase, if you wear it right!
BTW, I love your animated avatars.

Now that is what I am talking about!
Very nice reblock on the hat Hemingway Jones!
Imho, that is the perfect shape hat!
The 'drinking' photos are great!
Wear it in good health and many adventures.

Actually, I want to devote a whole page to retro-style flasks.

Nice idea. I have a retro styled flask my wife bought me. It is silver tone with a brown leather cover.
I look forward to seeing your page.

Thank you, Feraud, I appreciate that. It did take some effort for me to massage it into shape. A basic Raiders bash is easy, but refining it to exactly what you want takes a little patience. I was going back and forth from MK's page on my laptop to the bathroom mirror. I am very please with how it came out.
Oh, and erri, it's under the bed in a guitar case wrapped in sheepskin soaked with a little bit of oil to keep it from rusting.

And all this time I've been keeping my guitars in my guitar cases.
I found that the thing that needs the most work refining is the sharp point at the top front.

HJ, that is one sharp lid! I will be quite ashamed standing next to you in my pitiful Iconoclast. Since you're so tall, I guess I'll have to get a taller hat!

It looks like you've turned your AB. Have you?
The suit looks great, too. I had one just like it, but some little beasties stole in some time between wearings and chewed a little hole. No, not somewhere that could not be seen, but right on the shoulder! Dang moths! I think that suit would be ideal for the QM.
As usual, HJ, you set the standard for style!

Hey, thanks fellows, I appreciate your positive remarks.
I can't wait to get my gray hat and then the big question will be, which one should I wear to the QM???

The gray, of course. Everyone ELSE will be wearing brown!

Hemingway, allow me to say that your fedora looks incredible.
Now for that suit. You have to be one of, if not
the smartest dressed guys that I have ever come across.
The suit look fantastic on you and goes incredibly well with the fedora.

The last four photos really set off the look quite nice. Almost looks like you're in Donnovans penthouse. Great looking hat with a very sharp suit. I've said it before Hemingway, but it bears repeating. A gentleman and a scholar.
Cheers!

Sharp duds, my friend. The hat came back super nice. Does your AB still have the original liner, or did Steve toss in a liner/sweatcap combo in yours?

Thank you, Strider.
It has the original liner, which is fine with me. I wanted it to stay just the way it was. The shocking thing was just how new it looked. It was like getting back a brand new hat -amazing!
