Why is there never any mention of Peters Bros hats anymore? Did Indygear have a falling out with them or something? Or are they just being overshadowed by AB? I have a Peters Bros lid and it's pretty awesome. Those folks are great to visit with over in Ft. Worth! What's up?
have a nice day.

sorry to have to disagree with you but, I think Petersbrothers has gone right into the toilet. I guess you haven't heard about my nightmare with them.

They are still around. I know they've had some changes in staff, but as far as I'm aware they are still alive and kickin'. I need to drop in on them next time I'm in downtown FW...I just rarely make it down there these days.

This hat company is going through some hard times, but I have a particular fondness for this old family owned business. They will get it together again and provide us with that outstanding service that was part and parcel, when Joe Jr. was there watching the hatmaking and reblock service. I know some of the guys here have a bad taste in regards to this company, but it was not always that way. I was always 100 per cent pleased with their service, and this current situation there will be corrected. We need to get a petition to bring Joe Jr. back!! Now that guy was the real article, and an Indy fan to boot!! Just ask someone to post those old pics of fans and Joe in front of his shop. Fedora

Fedora , your whole alot more forgiving than I am. they will never get another sent from me. I will still spread the word on how bad it has become. There is no excuse for this bad customer service, they need to take a lesseon from you.

I am long overdue for a trip up there. That place was always busy when I went there. Being in the middle of Fort Worth, they do a ton of cowboy hats. Back in "the day", they helped move this hobby along.

Not only did mine turn green but has spots. Lets not get me started on the nightmare of a job did reblocking it.To small , to tall of a crown , I almost don't have a brim because they took for the crown hieght. I don't know why they made this misstake because you can clearly see wear the color isn't fadded from being protected from the ribbion ( sticking above the ribbion now). It only took them five and a half months to do it . They only lied about four time that is was in the mail.
Poor Steve aka Fedora couldn't even save this mess that they sent me.
They ruined my hat and they have nothing to say about it.
THIS IS A WARNING TO ANYONE WHO IS THINKING ABOUT SENDING MONEY THERE WAY.

On the other side, I've had wonderful custumer service from Peter Bros. They were extremely friendly to us, and the fedoras I have from them are top notch. In fact, the fedora I've been wearing most often as of late is my PBBM Brown LC fedora. I'm really looking forward to getting back down there again.

My wife had one done just this past May and it turned out beautifully. Also, in the past years we (the wife and I) have bought six hats from PB. We have had nothing but OUTSTANDING customer service from them. Your case is the exception, not the rule. I do have a question for you, jpenman. When did all this take place (which months and year)? I might have some answers as to what happened.
To answer the original question: No, there was no falling out and yes they, along with the other hat makers (Optimo, Akubra/Hatsdirect, Keppler, etc) are being overshadowed right now by the Adventurebilt. If you notice, the other hat makers are very rarely mentioned as well. PB is still making the Indy hat.

I got it about a month pr sp ago. I first bought it from the about a year and a half ago , and it took them five months to get it to me then. So they have had that hat in there hand more than I have. Thats not the thing that bothers most. It's the lie's , BS and the way the ruined the hat.

Thank you, jpenman. Your feedback has been noted.
For anyone present, new or lurking, if you encounter service that doesn't meet your level of expectation, call the vendor. They will often work things out with you up to giving you a refund. These are people who do this job day in and day out. They often handle hundreds of requests and it's easy for one to "get lost in the noise." You would be suprised how often a simple phone call can make the experience a whole lot better. I am speaking from both sides of the fence. It's not just hats but jackets, whips, boots and more.
Regards,
Pyroxene

From what little I've heard from them recently, they're so buried up with rodeo circuit hat work from last season, they've barely had time to raise their heads from the bench. As has been posted, they're still in the fedora game...you just don't hear much about them lately, with the exception of the straw Indy.
