Hi all! I've recently moved to the KC area, and saw on Indygear.com the cheap fedoras available at the Stetson Factory Outlet Store. Has anyone been lately? And is the Stetson Nostalgia still available? I'd like one in brown and one in gray...it's an hour away though, and gas being what it is wanted to make sure it'd be worth it.

And whats the store like? Anyone been?

I live in Lawrence, and I didn't even know that there was a Stetson store in KC.

I'm a native, Prairie Village, but have never been there. I would think that it would be worth checking out.

It' in St. Joe. I have been there several times over the years - they focus mainly on cowboy hats. These are the only "quality" hats there. I recently found a few good hat bodies in their "throw-away" bin and had Fedora work one over and it turned into an excellent fedora.

They offer all the crappy, rabbit-fur stetson fedoras that you can find anywhere on the web. They are around $50 at the store as opposed to $110.

Oh, the Nostalgia has been gone for several years now. The people up there are nice enough and will help you bash a crown with steam if you ask - unfortunately, Stetson just doesn't offer any durable fedoras anymore. Now if you are after a cowboy hat - they still have the edge over other mass producers...
