Poll regarding #200, Armored, and 1941 Replica Zippo

Post by Relic Raider »

First of all, my lighter page is currently under construction and I apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. The multitude of versions that I'm offering makes presenting all options and versions a difficult task. I hope to get it done this weekend.

But on to the topic of this post! The Armored Zippo is a recent addition to the Zippo line. The Armored Zippo has the same shape as a #200, but its casing is 50% thicker, making the Armored Zippo stronger and a bit heavier than the #200. There are subtle differences like slightly more rounded corners and a differently designed bottom. I put some comparison pictures on my site: http://home.earthlink.net/~relic_raider/models.html

I am wondering if there is interest in me offering the Armored version in addition to the #200 and the 1941 Replica. The Armored Zippo will cost between the #200 and 1941 Replica. In terms of badges, the #200 badges fit the Armored Zippo perfectly.

By voting you will give me an idea of what lighters I should keep in stock.

Cheers,
-Relic Raider

Hmm, will the armor deflect bullets any better than the #200? Can't cary a lighter than can't save me in a fire fight.

I like the slighly more rounded look, but don't like the idea of more weight.

IndyDoc, you probably won't even notice the 15% weight difference between a #200 and an Armored Zippo. I doubt either Zippo can deflect anything more than a BB pellet.

Put it in a sock, and you'll have a GREAT blackjack! Regards! Michaelson
Creative use of my products is encouraged. Every Zippo comes now with a sock.

bink, click on his link in the first post, scroll to the bottom of the page, then click on 'home'. You'll find all his 'goodies' he makes there.

He will only quote you a price via PM or email.

That's true. They did. (and several other things like thick books, and decks of cards...or something like that) But I'm sure in the right curcumstances it would delfect one, just don't count on it. (right type of gun, hit at an angle a good distance away, etc.)

bink, my website is linked under all my posts via the www button. Or you can click here: http://home.earthlink.net/~relic_raider/index.html

Prices are listed, but due to the multitude of options, especially in case of the lighter badges, you may want to confirm any prices with me via PM or email. Email is the safest method of reaching me.

bink, if the ZipLight isn't bright enough for you, you can always return it. Your risk is limited to $1.35 return postage, I believe.
I'd also like to mention at this point that if anybody buys a Clover Zippo and a ZipLight at the same time, I do give a $2 shipping credit, because the ZipLight comes with shipping included.

Depends which LED you get I guess. I've got a white one (of unknown brightness). It was before the latest superbright ones though. It'll light up the details of the other side of a 15 foot dark room quite well. Very good for searching through a tomb...err...closet.

I own a #200 clover Zippo. I also have the white LED ZipLight.
I love the fact that I can switch between the ZipLight and lighter pretty easily.

I use only two kinds of white LEDs:
1. 12k mini candela and 15 degree beam
2. 18k candela and 30 degree beam.
For now 18k mcd is the limit, but advances in LED technology occur regularly. LEDs can be changed, too, as long as the power requirement is the same.

I can't vouch enough for RelicRaiders stuff. I have one of his lighters and it's tops. The badges are the best! His headpiece is tops too. To make that from scratch takes lots of talent.

The only flashlight I could find in the dark this morning during the power outage was one of my rr ziplites. Absolutely perfect for what I was needing in the emergency at hand.

I've also used it when walking in upper New York State along a dark path. Lit the way for 4 of us walking down toward the lake.

Great lite, and I'm totally sold on the product! I've obtained one for each of my family members, and they love them.

It did need new batteries!

The only thing ive found is that i need to put a little bit of shellac in the lighter casing to stop the light from slipping out. Cause if you tend to hold it upsidown alot, it could possibly slip out.

Usually the fit is pretty tight. You can tape a small piece of Scotch tape on the ZiplLight casing to increase its thickness by a few mil. Or you can insert a thin shim between the two ZipLight halves. This will make the ZipLight a bit thicker.

Received my armored zippo Saturday during the wedding scramble, and really didn't get to look at it until yesterday.

ANOTHER fine product by our friend Relic Raider! Just as nice as all his other products, and VERY WELL made. It will be carried with pride. I'm going to have to get more jackets so I can put a lighter in each pocket. I'm running out of jackets!

I've got one of RR's 200s w/ the hybrid badges as well - LOVE IT.

RR, you wouldn't believe how many compliments I get on this.
The most common compliment: "That is the coolest Zippo I've ever scene."

(Added bonus: For some reason, women notice it more than men.
Go figure. Maybe it's cause I spend my time mostly around women.
That might be skewing the sample. ;))

It's got a bit of heft to it, but I feel that's part of the attraction - I know
it isn't going ANYWHERE. If I needed another, I'd pick up the Armored
one in a heartbeat.

Thanks again RR for making great stuff. ;)
