In 50s - 60s, in italy, streets were populated by FIAT 500s and other little cars like that. There were some cars that italians called "familiar" that compared to american ones of the same period they were mini-cars :lol:

have a look here http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/fia ... /clsfd.htm

Indiana_Tone wrote:Now that's interesting! Looking at your pics, Erri, I didn't realize you ordered your A/B with the tear-drop crown. I can't believe how it still looks waaaaaaaay better than that old Stetson on the right. The crown's much too tall on that one; and why is the ribbon so dark? Boy did they have it all wrong back then! Glad you posted these! ;)

::checks watch; waits for scolding in 5, 4, 3, 2, .....::
Sorry Harrison.. ehm indiana tone, what's a teardrop crown exactly?

:post:
and why is the ribbon so dark?
if you are speaking of the AB, the ribbon looks dark because there was few light in the room (it was early morning) and i used long exposition but it wasnt enough long to catch the right ribbon colour :wink. That's my explanation :D

It looks like a tear on the top of your hat(not a rip, but what comes out of your eyes when you cry).:P

I have an 84 Stetson too. It is hilarious that while I wore it over the years I thought it was a fairly decent replica. Since I have been on here and become "Indyfied" I realize how bad it is. Yours still looks better than mine. Mine tapered some and the ribbon is much more faded. :cry: My Akubra even looks head and shoulders better than the old Stetson. Thanks for the (un)comparison pics.

Have a great day,

My first hat was a Dorfman and this Stetson blows it out of the water, the first time I steamed it to correct the bash it tapered immediately and the ribbon became a wierd orange color. :shock:

I pulled a crazylegs by dousing it with alcohol and setting it on fire, only I didnt put it out. :P

Thank you for the explanation :D

I bought that Stetson on ebay, it looked a lot like the Stetson Nostalgia that's why i took it. Then i came in this wondeful forum and my indy hat lost the importance i gave to it :lol:
So i sold it, now i'm the happy owner of an Adventurebilt. Thanks Steve :D

Considering the old Stetson was all we HAD for many many years, it served it's purpose well in it's day. I know, I wore out two of them before the Miller made it's appearance.
