Hey John, I like those boots..have you bought them already? I'd like to see other pictures of them though. They seem a bit taller than a regular 6" work boot. Got any pictures?

Also, do they have any hardware such as heel irons and toe plates mounted on them? I'm looking for an alternative pair of period boots, but if they come with hob nails and/or plates already installed that might be a deal killer.

The bag repro currently converts to 19 bucks and some small change. I can't imagine shipping to the States would be too much, either. It looks like a great bag!

This is definitely going to be my next bag.

Well, I just ordered one. I'll post a review and maybe take a stab at some pictures as soon as it gets here.

I also ordered a pair of the boots. I realise that they aren't technically an Indy related item, but I've been searching for a decent example of a period low boot that I could use as an alternative. In reply to my question concerning whether they had any kind of metalwork on the soles or heels, James at Lawrance Ordnance wrote that they didn't. He cited the obvious problem of scarring the heck out of wood floors by walking on them in hob nailed boots. On top of that, I can add that any polished floor surface turns into a skating rink! I'm really hoping that these work out. They look great in the picture on their web site, but my past experience with repro Commonwealth ammunition type boots has been underwhelming. Evidently it's extremely difficult to make a well made item that has a decent fit at an acceptable price.

We'll see what happens!
