It could be worse. (Several Pics)

I was having a convo with Jpevh the other night on MSN, and we ended up talking about Dorfman Pacific's Indy hats. While the reaction to them around these parts is usually not very favorable, I showed Jpevh some pics of some other people that had their picture taken "as Indiana Jones", to illustrate a point. It can get worse than a Dorfman-Pacific.

Case in point:

! This guy would look pretty good, actually, if it weren't for that hat.

Oh yeah, dude. Oh yeah.

Now, this is one of the best Temple of Doom lids I've seen outside of Indy Gear. You can actually book this guy to show up at a party.

You see Indy? You see!?

We might not like Dorfmans, but hey, it could be much worse.

I swear I'm not concieted, but wandering through Comic Con, seeing the other Indy's there, and their gear, I thought the exact same thing.
Indiana_Tone wrote:::Door flies open; muffled rendition of Raider's March is heard through 80's boombox cassette tape; Rent a guy swaggers into the room, strikes a pose and then - frowns:: "This....isn't even close, is it?"

Gearhead: "Nice try, though."
 ! I'd still offer the guy a beer, though.

Some of the pics aren't bad- one or two adjustments (a new hat, etc.) and they'd be on par with any of us. :) Some of the others, though... :?

A few years back there was actually a thread of pics of non-COW members' Halloween costumes- Lord Almighty! (Any of you remember that thread?)

This guy, I think, isn't close enough for the ladies of COW to be approved, but for others in oblivion, it is as it seems... :D

As always, it's a lot of fun watching Indy costumes out there. Should I add on to this thread if I find any more?

What is with these people and rope? Half of these pictures have coils of rope wrapped around the person's torso!

Oh, I just LOVE how the belt matches the handbag and the pant legs. Ooo, and the leopard print hatband is to DIE for. This is accessorizing at its best.

I’m sorry. I’ll go whip myself with a long screen accurate white rope.

OMG!!!! Where do these people come from? The little kids are pretty cool. I think most of us younger Indy fans have been there. But for crying out loud, some of these people aren't even in the ballpark.

The most important thing is, these people are having fun, so more power to 'em. I'm all for stuff like that. My point was just to illustrate that it can actually get worse than Dorfman Pacific when folks are rooting around in their basement for anything that comes close to reminding them of Indiana Jones.

IndyDoc, maybe he's the Tom Selleck version of Indy.

Thats what I want to know, what do you have to do to a jacket to get it to look like that?

I just noticed the 4th guy down has a ribbon on his badge. Is he a WINNER? 8) I'm gussing not as the girl in green walking by in no costume has one too, but then again the Klingon doesn't have a ribbon. Hmm...mysterious. ;)

It's probably a badge for some convention like Dragon Con or something.
