Side by side Rebash Pics

Here is the hat that I gave my dad and bashed two weeks ago. I got it from him last night and rebashed it. Check it out.
Also, I recieved my second Federation and put a bash on it.

THe key I've found, and this is after three hats, in bashing the crown, is to do a tall center pinch (5 + inches) then deep front bashes before I do the top dent.

Prairie, is that first pic a before and after? You've really mastered those camel humps in the right hand pic! Are you doing all your bashing by hand, or do you have a block or something?

By the way, with your fedora on, can you go through doorways without ducking?!

Your before and after pics sure look good Prairie. The shape looks quite nice, and great job getting that tight pinch. Semper Fi Marine.

Cheers!

Yes, the first pick is before and after. I have taken pictures of pretty much the whole process in this last hat. If you would like, I will post them.
I do the bashing by hand using a little cold water. I also use clothes pins to get the tight pinches. Just make sure you put a few layers, such as a folded washcloth, on before the clothes pins, or else they will leave marks. The marks that the cloth leaves can be brushed out.
