First re-block attempt

So here is the result of a reblocking attempt I made on a beaver brand hat that my co-worker got for free. He didn't like the blowler style, and needed the hat a full size bigger.

I realized through this process that it's really hard to get a hat without taper without a proper block! I think it looked ok, all things considering, any thoughts?

Excellent, I think I'll do the same with my AB. 8)

Just out of curiousity: did you actually re-BLOCK the hat or did you just wet it and put a hat stretcher inside?

I tried to stretch it over a head form that I have, but the head was smaller than the size of the head...so it was a combination of the hat stretcher and the headform.

That first pic looks almost exactly like my Iconoclast.

Makes me wonder if there's any hope to get that taper out... Maybe neither of these hats has the requisite height. Keep us posted, CLM; if you find any way to fix that taper up I'll try it with the Iconoclast.

Not bad for a first try. Somebody has been paying attention.

Cheers!
