I intend to use them on a decent cheapie toy replica for a holster filler. Now I'll be shopping the dollar stores with grips in hand!

They're made of resin with the brass inserts for the screw. Total price including insured USPS Priority Mail: $21.30 U.S.

So, should I paint them black to simulate the rubber type grip, or with a wood finish?

UPDATE - Pics of painted grips added:

This was a quickie paint job just to give an idea of what can be done with these grips. I'll probably do a little more finishing and weathering when I mount them on a gun. That's next. I'll be using the Kapowwe type .44 magnum watergun. :D

Hmmm.... Now that I have re-read my post, I think it may sound like I'm selling these. I'm not. I simply purchased them.

Anyway, thanks for your input, Merrick. I appreciate it.

Did the Bapty gun have wood grips? If it did, I will go that route. I need to find some good pics of similar wood grips to use as for reference.

Then wood it is! I'll post pics when I get them done. In the meantime, here's the downlow on these grips.

The grips are castings of a Bakelite set of Franzite grips. Franzite (Now defunct.) was a company that made replacement grips.

The good news is that the casting and detail is very crisp. The bad news is, if you're a stickler for detail, instead of the S&W medallion, the medallion is of the Franzite logo. (I'm wondering if the S&W medallions are available as replacement parts. They'd even be metal that way. Of course, you could always lift them from an old beat-up pair of grips.)

These grips can be bought on eBay from seller: desert-ocean

I've checked with him and he prefers all sales go through eBay. Here is a quote from him:
ALL my auctions are relisted within 2 hours or less of their expiration. Just have your friends save them in their "watching" file. If one expires before they get a chance to purchase the grips, the old listing will automatically link to the new one.
My transaction with desert-ocean has been absolutely satisfactory. Based on my experience I heartily recommend him as person to do business with.

edit: Disclaimer - I have no affiliation with the seller and receive no kickbacks for any sales he may make.
